That's a gross generalisation and venomous narrative caste hindus constantly push in various spaces to hide the social privilege they carry. Just wanted to ask some questions. Can we talk about the industry links and social privilege that Anirudh and GV Prakash always have and something that they will carry forever? Even after all his achievements, can we talk about how Yuvan was constantly sidelined in award functions? How he didn't get the deserving recognition in the industry? Can we talk about the early life of Ilaiyaraaja Sir and compare it with the early lives of the relatives, contacts of Dileep Kumar, Anirudh,GVP, Sai and the social privilege these people carry here? Shall we talk about how despite all his achievements, Raja Sir still faces targeted hate from both the industry and public spaces because of his identity? Can we talk about how a man in his 83 is still fighting for rights all alone for the entire industry yet remains unsupported, disrespected, and unloved by many here? Socially privileged nepo kids or kids born into musical families with minimal to extensive influence, contacts and social privilege who got recognised in this society like Dileep Kumar, Anirudh, GV Prakash, Sai, etc., and their fans can fight among themselves to figure out who is more hated or loved. Raja sir and Yuvan are in a different league and always have been. Dalit cinema, atleast the minimal Dalit representation achieved right now, Dalits getting atleast the minimal recognition in cinema today would have remained an unattainable dream if not for the efforts and existence of one man, Ilaiyaraaja Sir. As Pa. Ranjith rightly mentioned recently about Raja Sir, "Naanga avungalku fanlaam illa, avunga engaluku Munnatthiyar, avar pinnaadi naanga thodarndhu varrom." Jai Bhim! 💙

Why haven't Pa. Ranjith and Mari Selvaraj spoken up regarding this issue? Why haven't they voiced out against that specific party? Are they working for a specific party or are they being paid by them?...These are the questions that caste Hindus constantly put forth in various spaces till date, regardless of which party is in power. They mock, engage in casteist abuse, judge their entire personalities and identities. Firstly, Art is political. Every film is political. Every filmmaker and human being here takes a political stand with every decision they make. With every film a filmmaker questions, criticizes, supports or stands against some ideology, party, community, etc.,. But all of them are given a free pass. It is always Pa. Ranjith and Mari Selvaraj who are constantly mocked and abused by caste Hindus and they are the ones who are repeatedly pushed to a place where they have to prove their honesty every single time. Why? It's quite simple, it's because they are Dalits and they speak about issues that make caste hindus uncomfortable, while other filmmakers make films about issues that do not challenge them. We know very well that these same caste hindus will not even open their mouths regarding cases of caste discrimination, honour killings that happen almost everyday here. Pa.Ranjith, Neelam have been constantly trying to cover almost every issue here with the limited resources they have till date. People in these situations who harshly criticize them and engage in casteist abuse only expose the deep-seated casteist behavior that has always existed within them. They do all this only to push them back to 'their place' where they want them to be in this society. Holding only Dalits working in various spaces here accountable everytime for the moral conscience of the society while giving others a free pass is an expression of deep-seated caste bias. Thatsit.
