Congrats on the launch - $4.81M TVL in under 24 hours from a single vault is a strong signal.
Senior ~18.3% / Junior ~38.4% with clear tranching is exactly the kind of product the market has been missing. Looking forward to the next 2–3 vaults. Keep shipping.
Under 24 hours open to the public, and Mezzanine is at $4.81M TVL.
That’s from one vault. We’re aiming for 2 to 3 new vaults a month.
Current rates: Senior ~18.3%, Junior ~38.4% (variable).
A smooth launch, and a huge thank you to everyone who supported us on day one. Just the beginning.

Mezzanine positions its Hastra Optimizer as the practical implementation of this trade: it automates asset selection, venue choice, leverage, and monitoring in a single deposit, then tranches the strategy into senior (lower yield with a loss buffer) and junior (higher yield,
RWA.xyz published a deep dive last week on the tokenized carry trade: hold a yield-bearing token, borrow stablecoins against it, buy more, and earn the spread.
Their conclusion is that it’s become one of the biggest drivers of demand for tokenized assets. It’s also the trade the Hastra Optimizer is built on.
They list what makes a tokenized asset good carry collateral. Here’s how @HastraFi’s PRIME and AUTO measure up on four of them.
Yield spread: the gap between what the asset pays and what it costs to borrow against it. Over the last 30 days, AUTO paid around 9.4% against roughly 6.2% to borrow PYUSD on Kamino, a gap of over 3 points. That leaves room for borrow rates to rise before the carry disappears.
Price quality: thin market prices can swing and trigger liquidations the underlying value doesn’t justify. On Morpho and Kamino, PRIME and AUTO are priced at NAV, not at a momentary DEX print.
Redemption: PRIME and AUTO redeem to wYLDS at NAV, so exiting doesn’t depend on someone buying on a DEX.
Scale: PRIME is over half a billion dollars, and as of August around 70% of it was working in DeFi.
What the report doesn’t cover is the work. Running the carry trade yourself means picking the asset, the venue, what to borrow and how much leverage to use, then watching all of it every day.
The Hastra Optimizer runs it in one deposit, then lets you choose how much of the risk you hold. Senior earns a little less than the overall strategy yield, with a loss buffer in front of it. Junior earns more for taking first-loss exposure.
The tokenized carry trade, tranched. On your terms.
Mezzanine is doing something clean and well-timed. Instead of forcing every depositor into the same risk pool, they take a specific yield thesis, wrap it in its own isolated vault, and let people choose their seat: Junior for maximum conviction
Everyone in DeFi has a thesis. Real-world credit is the future. Stables should earn more. Yield should be fixed.
Mezzanine turns a thesis into a vault, then lets you choose how hard to back it.
Junior is for maximum conviction. Senior is for conviction, with a cushion.
The first thesis is @HastraFi, with more on the way.
Tranche anything.
(first-loss, higher share of the yield) or Senior for conviction with a cushion.
The first thesis is a smart one. Hastra’s PRIME (home equity) and AUTO (near-prime auto loans) deliver real credit yield. The Optimizer vault aggregates and loops those positions across Morpho and
This is the kind of work that actually protects the ecosystem. Gas refills + state-gas reservoir changes can quietly break failure-handling assumptions that have held for years.
Glad @chain_security caught it early and that Mezzanine’s contracts are clean. More of this energy.
If Mezzanine can make “tranche anything” as seamless as looping a stablecoin position, the market size will follow the same path. Looking forward to seeing the first wave of isolated vaults live.
Protocols built to tranche other people’s strategies hold about $60 million today.
DeFi lending holds $53 billion.
That puts tranching as a service at roughly 0.1% of DeFi lending.
That’s where looping was years ago. Today looping drives around 40% of lending revenue, but it took years of new assets, deeper markets and better tooling to get there.
Early is an understatement. Looping already wrote the blueprint. Mezzanine is coming to write the next chapter.
Tranching the risk so juniors eat losses first, plus pricing at NAV instead of the DEX mid, is a clean way to stop that from being the user’s problem.
Quietly one of the more useful structural improvements in this corner of DeFi.
For a looper, the scariest number on screen is the liquidation price.
A short dip in the collateral’s market price or a spike in the borrow rate, and the lending market closes the position. The price recovers an hour later. The position doesn’t.
Tranching changes your side of that. The strategy still loops, but you’re not the one managing positions or watching a health factor. If the strategy does take a loss, there’s a loss order: junior absorbs it first, senior sits behind it.
That’s what Mezzanine was built for: optimized strategies in one deposit, with a choice of where you sit in the loss order.
In the Hastra Optimizer, PRIME and AUTO are valued at NAV, the value of the assets behind them, not whatever they happen to trade at on a DEX that minute. A brief dip in the trading price doesn’t move your position.
This is the cleanest articulation of why most “yield collateral” still fails under stress.
Building the primitives the rest of DeFi can compose on top of, rather than another isolated yield farm.

Good collateral has to survive a bad day.
For borrowers running loops at high leverage, a small dip in the collateral can trigger a liquidation. The less the collateral moves, the more leverage borrowers can run.
Mezzanine’s senior tranche sits behind junior capital. Small drawdowns in the underlying land on junior first.
And there’s depth. Senior is targeted at around 80% of the vault, so most of the capital sits in the senior token. That’s enough supply to support a lending market.
A potential next step: PTs on the senior token via @pendle_fi. A fixed rate on an asset that already moves less, in a format DeFi widely uses as collateral.
We’re building tranche tokens the rest of DeFi can build on.
Mezzanine’s five-layer yield stack turns real-world credit into composable, risk-adjusted DeFi returns.
DeFi’s best yields don’t come from one protocol. They come from stacking them.
Here’s one way the Legos can stack, with Mezzanine right in the middle:
@HastraFi → Yield engine
PRIME and AUTO earn from home equity and auto credit
Hastra Optimizer → Strategy
Picks between PRIME and AUTO, across Morpho and Kamino, borrowing where it’s cheapest and looping where the spread is worth it
@mezzanine_fi → Tranching
The strategy is split into two risk levels. Senior earns a little less, with a loss buffer in front of it. Junior earns more for taking first-loss exposure.
@pendle_fi → Tokenization
Split the tranche into PT and YT. Lock a fixed rate with PT, or go long the variable yield with YT.
@MorphoLabs → Leverage
Use the PT as collateral, borrow, and loop it.
Real-world credit → optimized → tranched → fixed → looped.
Five layers. One starting asset.
Launching soon.
Stack your Mezzanine points early.
