Canada is one of America’s most critical allies. Michiganders know that better than anyone — we share bonds of family, culture, commerce and closely intertwined supply chains.
The President’s 50% tariff on 500 Canadian goods, including hockey sticks and milk, does nothing to help American families. It just substitutes serious trade policy for pettiness.
And it’s particularly petty for the President to keep punishing our Canadian neighbors the week we should be finally celebrating the opening of the Gordie Howe bridge — something Democrats and Republicans have roundly supported for decades.
