Any tips on how to manage behaviour for 5/6 students who are best friends and make it more difficult to teach? I’m going to ring home and focus on positive relationships with them! The behaviour is a lot of low level but it’s constant

Hats off to any teacher that manages to stay awake much later than 9pm at the moment.

If no one has said it to you, thank you for all your hard work this week and have a great weekend.

Today I sat down with a student who hasn’t done anything in class so far (7 days in). All I told him was that I will give him feedback and another shot on it no matter what.
Guess who turned in something today.
It highlighted something important for me.

Would anyone be able to help a ECT PE teacher with resources for Unit 4 - Pearson BTEC SPORT Level 3 please?

If you’re starting as an ECT/NQT in September, I’ve put together a little thread of my top 20 general tips!
As I enter my 13th year in teaching, these are some of the things I wish that I’d have known in that first year!

Aside from becoming a PE teacher, one thing I cannot wait for is to have my own form room & group 🥰🙌🏼

On average, the number of times a week a PE Teacher is asked if
“we are gunna play a game?”
Giving time limits e.g 5 minutes then detentions after to set a high standard! I’ve also given house points for the first 4 pupils to get ready first, both of these seem to work (for now)
Has anyone any tips on how to get pupils to change quicker for PE? I feel like I have tried everything but nothing works! Sometimes it can take 15/20 minutes before we're in our working space.
TIA
