South Africa is one of the most religious-tolerant countries in the world.
We celebrate Eid and Divali and Yom Kippur just like we celebrate Good Friday and Christmas. They are all moments where there’s good vibes in SA, even for atheists.
The campaign to divide us will fail.

No clear winner has emerged from Israel’s election, with nearly 90% of ballots counted and both major political blocs falling short of the 61 seats needed to form a government. aje.news/b2jjkk

Every time I live through yet another Brazilian election I can’t but marvel at an electoral system that can count 120 million votes in a single evening. Take a bow, Brazil

Stop frying your brain with endless short form content. Read long, complicated, books. Especially novels. Cultivate the ability to think deeply. To focus for long periods. Stare into space and enjoy boredom. Do tasks without any media playing in the background. Resist the urge to reach for your phone every time you feel uncomfortable. Get used to being with uncomfortable emotions instead. Wonder and think about the questions you have instead of asking AI. Become deeply present with everyone around you. Your ability to focus, pay attention, to think deeply, is one of your most valuable assets. Reclaim the immense beauty of experiencing your life directly instead of living it through a screen.

The scrambled eggs at a hotel breakfast are 19% water, and they're dyed.
A lot of hotels and cafeterias pour them from a carton of Papetti's Breakfast Blend. The spec sheet reads whole eggs, 19% water, then under 2% of salt, xanthan gum, citric acid, annatto color and natural butter flavor. Papetti's is part of Michael Foods, one of the biggest egg processors in the country.
Every ingredient has a job on a steam table. Xanthan gum holds the added water in the egg so it doesn't weep into the pan. Citric acid keeps the eggs from turning gray or green under a heat lamp. Annatto puts back the yolk color the water washed out. The butter flavor is there because nobody is going to add butter. The carton keeps for 98 days in the cooler.
The plain version from the same company is whole eggs, whey, skim milk, xanthan and citric acid, with almost no added water and half the sodium.

“He’s got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened up a Cheesecake Factory"
Obama just spoke to an ELECTRIC audience in Ohio, skewering Trump and Pete Hegseth and making the case that while we may be stuck with the same president for two more years, we are not stuck with a spineless do-nothing Congress
Here are the highlights:

Knowing her ‘luck’ with courts, I’m scared for her
Halle Berry reportedly broke down in tears after an evidentiary court hearing in which her 13-year-old son testified against her, amid the ongoing custody battle with her ex-husband, Olivier Martinez.
According to the boy testimony, He said Berry had choked him by the throat several times, and that she hit him whenever he mentioned his father's name around her. He also said she verbally abused him, telling him he was just like his "useless father." Sources say Berry denied the allegations and expressed frustration over how Martinez had tried to turn her son against her saying she never knew he was such a weak man, using deception to win a custody battle. Berry denied ever choking their son, denied physically hitting either Martinez or their son, and promised to present her witnesses at their next court appearance.
