This evening, Maia Sandu, the pro-EU president of Moldova, delivered an unprecedented address to the nation following todayโs large-scale arrests of pro-Russian agents across the country:
"In all solemnity, I have to inform you that the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and future of our country are in grave and immediate danger. What most people miss about the Ukrainian oil campaign is that each Russian refinery was built to support certain local & international markets with certain types of crude oil.
This makes the entire Russian energy market "logistically brittle."

In 1946 WWII veteran Maceo Snipes was shot in his back by the KKK the day after he became the first Black person to cast a vote in Taylor County, Georgia.
After he was shot, Mr. Snipes walked three miles to the hospital with his mother. For six hours doctors left him waiting and bleeding. By the time he was seen, he needed a blood transfusion. The doctors said the hospital had no โblack blood.โ Snipes died two days later.
This is why I will vote in every election. The day I stop voting is the day I stop breathing.

NBA legend Alonzo Mourning built a 37 million dollar senior living complex in Florida, called Astoria on 9th. It has 120 apartments, with one and two bedroom homes that are between 635 and 900 square feet.
Rent is only 322 dollars for those with very low income, and even the highest rent is around 1316 dollars, which is still much less than most places in Florida. To qualify, seniors must be 55 or older and have an income below certain levels, so it is made for people who really need affordable housing.
The community is not just about cheap rent. It has a cyber cafรฉ with internet and a kitchen, a gym for exercise, a clubhouse where people can gather, and even a dog park for pets. Everything was designed to look modern and welcoming, just like expensive apartments, so that seniors feel proud of where they live.
This project gives seniors a safe and beautiful home at a price they can afford. Alonzo Mourning showed all rich people what giving back really looks like, building something that changes lives in a real and lasting way.

The C-17 has some of the most powerful thrust reversers ever made. Unlike most reversers that only take the bypass air from the fan and direct it outwards, the C-17's engines take air from the core of the engine as well. You can see the opening that the air comes out of behind the nacelles. Awesome aircraft.

So here's my Charlie Kirk story.
About a decade ago, I commented on a Charlie Kirk post about taxes are communist so I replied to him that communism doesn't actually have taxes.
So he DM'd me challenging me to a "debate" on his timeline.
I politely told him I don't debate dipshits and invited him to go fuck himself, then blocked him.
He had almost a million followers at the time, and I had fewer than 20K.
This is how Kirk operated on his "debates." Sure he would "debate" me on his own timeline where his own idiotic followers would gang up on me.
That doesn't mean he's winning a debate. It just means he isn't willing to have one.
I keep hearing about how he like "honest debate" but I never see him actually having one where another person has a podium next to him and it's in a neutral audience.
What I see him is asking glib and loaded questions to people in an audience while he has the mic and control of the conversation.
That's not debating. His "clapbacks" are easily refuted but he never gives the other person a chance to refute them.
He was not the model of what debate should be. It's a model of what it should be. His version of debate was to surround himself with people who agreed with him and bully those who don't with numbers; not facts.
Years later, he said something so stupid I unblocked him long enough to say "I had to unblock you just so would see that you're a dumb mother fucker" and he blocked me."
He didn't try to defend his argument. He just blocked me.
Charlie was a coward when it came to actual and real debate. I don't believe he ever had one.
