I made a new GPU lightmapper for Unity!
It can work on NVIDIA and AMD GPUs, Windows and Linux, utilize hardware ray tracing, and it's free
It already includes features like realtime preview, denoising, seam stitching, uv packing, VRCLightVolumes, with more planned

I will probably update the world one more time at the end of this week, and I decided to open more picture slots.
If you're interested and don't have a picture in that hallway yet, please follow the instructions in the quoted Tweet!
I'll set the deadline to the 16th, so a much shorter deadline than previously.

Hello everyone, quick announcement!
In my NUCLEUS II world, I'm building a corridor where each frame displays a 3D portrait of different players.
If you would like to be included, you can visit the world I'll post in the replies!
Instructions are provided in-world, but basically just press the button, wait a few seconds, and once you're teleported back, save the selfie with the VRC Camera. After that, just send me the image so I can add you to the gallery. You can send images via DMs or on Discord (myrop), please also mention your VRC username. Images don't need to be taken at a very high resolution since I'll heavily compress them.
The world overrides your pose to ensure everyone has the same one, so you don't need to be in VR, Desktop mode works fine.
Any avatar is allowed as long as it's humanoid and complies with VRChat's TOS. Avatars with very large heads or weird armatures may not work properly.
Thanks, and happy new year!

VRChat world building tip!
If you bake reflection probes and want to keep them small, bake them at a higher resolution and then manually set the size lower instead of just baking them small.
Less jagged edges that way.

I don't post here often, but yeah I'm working on a #VRChat bot!
In the Discord you can even tune the worlds you get invited to.
Also, community events! It supports joining groups and having their instances be randomly selected!

If you want to explore cool VRChat worlds, Jazzy Senpai recently released a bot that can randomly invite you to a world from a community generated list.
The idea is very simple : Request an invite to that bot, and it will send you an invite to a randomly selected world!

Have you ever wanted to be a ball and just roll around without a care in the world?

(This world is just a private prototype, but feel free to visit via direct link. Also: Audio on for the video!)

and did you know ORL comes with a modular shader system where you can puzzle together what you need? you can literally just puzzle together whatever you need with all the modules the shader comes with! LTCGI? VRSLGI? Arealit? VRCLightVolumes? all built in as modules!
There are many amazing shaders out there, but I would also recommend trying out the shaders made by Orels (@orels1_)
Here, I am using Orels puddles shader shaders.orels.sh/docs/orl-st…
I'm also a big fan of how everything is documented.

Another multi-filmmaker project brought to you by 84 participants :)

In the project, a song is divided into segments, with each filmmaker creating visuals for their assigned part based on a shared theme. Later, these individual contributions are combined into a piece.
Two months ago, I invited friends, filmmakers, and other interested individuals to participate in the project. They were asked to explore themes of meeting new people, forming meaningful relationships, and creating visuals for the theme using the song 'Fire and the Flood.'
There are no storyboards, giving filmmakers the freedom to showcase their creativity and interpretation while staying within the provided guidelines.
Thank you guys for joining, I really learned a lot from this project and appreciate the stuff you created!

You can do some pretty neat tricks with stencils! And it's not only a tool for making these elaborate skits, I've seen people use it for small stylistic things like rendering eyes in front of hair

If you need a list of upcoming #vrchat worlds this year, check out the replies to this thread. Lots of amazing projects in development to look forward to.
Thanks to all the creators that took part and shared details about their worlds in development. Also thanks to anyone that retweeted the projects they were interested in too (if you didn't but gave them a like, consider retweeting those tweets too so it gets shared to others following you, since likes are private now)
It's been a while since I did this:
"what #VRChat world are you making?"
Share screens/vids & info of an unreleased world you are creating in replies! I'll retweet (I hope others do too) it if it has screenshots or a vid included (gives your project better visibility)🙌

I'm designing a world called “Asteroid Field”, focused on exploration and immersion. Although there is no specific objective beyond exploration and photography, a discreet narrative thread subtly guides the player's experience, enriched by numerous animations in this world.

Been working on my puzzle RPG world "Cohen's Fate" for over a year now!
As for a release date... Let's just say I'm going to be needing a LOT of playtesters very very soon.

I've been working on "The Smile Room Chapter Two" for over 2 years now. It's slowly getting to the end of development and I'm super excited to finally see people play it very soon👻
(It doesn't have a release date yet)

Unity Tip:
Baking reflection probes at a lower resolution produces worse visuals than baking at a higher resolution and then manually setting the rendered cube map to a lower resolution.
Down sample instead of render native resolution, and you will get less jagged edges.
