New York state's Medicaid budget is $125 bil which is more than Florida's entire budget overpaying by 40-60% per patient with 3 million more people than legally qualify for the program. NYC itself at 1/3 of FL population spends more than FL. You aren't fooling anyone buddy
It’s a fair point. New York and Florida are basically the same, except for our 24/7 subway system, one of the nation’s largest public hospital systems, a higher minimum wage, stronger worker protections, universal 3-K, paid family leave, paid sick leave, and paid prenatal leave.

The Washington Post is fabricating this out of whole cloth. I have not reached out to anybody about running for anything. Just another pathetic attempt to garner clicks. Using anonymous sources of course!

In the coming years, @Neuralink will enable people to walk and use their hands again
Neuralink gave Noland Arbaugh something to wake up for. “I didn’t have anything to wake up for in the morning, and this has changed that for me.” @elonmusk says he’s fairly confident Neuralink could restore full-body functionality at some point in the future—not a capability achieved today.

Data centers in Loudoun County, Virginia: “We get $1.2 billion a year in local tax revenue, about 40% of all of our tax revenue...on 3% of our land” Buddy Rizer, the county's economic development chief, explained how “data center alley” grew: “We would have never looked at having 55 million square feet of data center, 230-some buildings. That was not the plan. The plan was to utilize the fiber loop, the internet exchange, to utilize a reclaimed water line, and buildings that were already built. That was the plan, right? And so that made a lot of sense.” “But, you know, fast forward, today we are largely dependent on that. We get $1.2 billion a year in local tax revenue, about 40% of all of our tax revenue. And while that looks overwhelming, data centers take only about 3% of all of our land in the county. So it’s quite a return on investment. You know, 40%, $1.2 billion, on 3% of our land.”
SpaceX’s Arizona data center, per a county supervisor: “We could be reducing property taxes across the board in Cochise County, the entire county, by 20%” Frank Antenori, whose district includes the site, brought up the county’s tax math during a live Q&A: “Here’s just something to just chew on. Arizona has an expenditure limit requirement that is placed on counties. If we exceed that expenditure, we have to rebate back to the taxpayers a certain amount.” “So, if we’re receiving revenue in from SpaceX, by law, we have to offset that to the taxpayers. We have the potential to reduce, based on the projected revenue they’re creating, as much as 20%.” “Let me just say it again. We could be reducing property taxes across the board in Cochise County, the entire county, by 20% to offset for the revenue here, because we can’t spend all that money. So, we have to give that money back to the taxpayers. The law says we have to.” “So, you could see a potential significant impact to local property taxes. What that is, I don’t know. We’re going to have to do the math on it. But the law, if we have this large increase in property tax revenue, we have to balance those rates. So that will reduce dramatically the property tax burden of every resident in the county.” “The construction sales tax, which also is the TPT, the transaction privilege tax, the retail tax, and the jail excise tax. So that will be part of the construction tax. We could literally use that money to pay the jail off in 2 to 3 years, as opposed to the 13 to 20 years.” “So this could be a revenue to eliminate the half-cent sales tax in 2 to 3 years. We can get rid of that half-cent sales tax.”

A few days ago, Austin Payne, a 15-year-old White boy in Georgia, was hunted, shot, and left to die in an abandoned apartment by four black teen males. He called his mom after being attacked and shot, telling her he was dying. She found his body the next morning after searching all night for him. Charged with his murder: Jansquincey Donaldson, 15; Omari Marion, 15; Adarious Wallace, 16; Detravion Parker, 22. National media has been completely silent. If four White teens had done this to a Black kid, it would dominate cable news for days. Instead, silence. They covered the Nolan Wells case wall-to-wall for a drowning. Yet this kid was hunted like an animal and brutally murdered, and because his skin is White, his story will never be told. I couldn’t imagine being his mother and getting that call. Rest easy, Austin. 💔 #whitelivesmatter

In case you’re wondering, the eligibility requirements for this do not include US citizenship or any legal status. Just “proof of residency” in California for one year.
BREAKING: California voters just passed Prop 37. Buyers of newly built homes can now put down 3% instead of 20%. How: the state lends you the other 17% as a second mortgage, funded by up to $25 billion in bonds. On an $800,000 home that's $24,000 down instead of $160,000.

Exactly 😂 Tesla has no government contracts and President Trump ended federal incentives for electric vehicles. SpaceX contracts with the government are BOTH the best product AND the lowest price! Moreover government revenue will be less than 10% of SpaceX revenue this quarter and less then 5% a year from now. Happy to cancel any that the government doesn’t want. Just say the word!
Elon please send this January 1: Dear Senate & House Democrats, Many of you criticize my companies receiving federal contracts. I hereby offer to cancel. Please publish a list of each contract to cancel with any required agency consent, and we will cancel promptly. Sincerely, Elon Musk

Stop the War? Time to end the draft and bring our soldiers home from Iran where they are dying by the hundreds in trench warfare and house-to-house combat. Oh wait. We are not doing any of that. The “war” is a naval blockade to get the Iranians to give up nuclear and terrorist ambitions. At its peak we also had an air campaign directed at military and leadership targets but we stopped it in exchange for fake promises. Mostly we have been engaged in endless negotiations and memorandums of understandings while the Iranians regained their footing and kept their resolve to kill big and little Satan. The Iranians are so confident now in their success they are not negotiating at all. They killed tens of thousands of their own people to keep their iron grip. They are laughing at America that can’t take a temporary $1 increase in gasoline prices to get rid of the world’s top sponsor of terrorism and instability. The President should set out his non negotiable demands of no nukes, no strait, no terrorist funding, no long range ballistics, and then resume bombing if they don’t agree until they do. And democrats want to lower the cost of gasoline? Who could possibly believe that after they spent 20 years choking off the supply of domestic energy over climate change. Check the price of gas in California. So the current fashion is to end the war with nothing, cut off Israel, and lower the cost of gasoline. That’s a strategy? Enable nuclear and other terrorism that will ultimately swallow the region, travel to Europe and then here? Or stop it now that you can when they are weak and have alienated all the gulf states and go for real stability. That’s an actual strategy that will pay us back for decades to come. And as to affordability — suspend the gas tax, drop interest rates, suspend tariffs, provide temporary tax breaks for energy use, reform the student loan program and push for big affordable housing programs beyond the recent bill. As to “war,” finish the job while we can. And explain why to the American people.

The only permanent construction job is building California high speed rail
My favorite part of the data center discourse is the people that say “but it only creates temporary construction jobs!” Yes, that is precisely the nature of construction jobs.

There are no words that I can use to express the extent to which I loathe @BernieSanders. He has parasitized taxpayers for 50 years and offered less than nothing in return. A degenerate and lobotomized fool. Go back to renew your marriage vows in the Soviet Union, and please stay there.
🇺🇸 Bernie Sanders on the changes he foresees for America after the midterms: "The American people want a tax on billionaires so that we can have universal child care, we can make public colleges tuition-free, and we can build millions of units of low-income and affordable housing. It's time that the billionaire class, many of whom pay an effective tax rate lower than a truck driver, start paying their fair share of taxes." Writer: Mhedi

Fake news. Harmeet tendered her resignation letter a long time ago. Was just waiting to get past midterms.
In her resignation letter, Dhillon said that she told Susie Wiles that she intended to step down after the midterms. Two sources familiar with the matter, however, told CBS that Mr. Trump demanded she be fired after he watched her on "60 Minutes" cbsnews.com/news/harmeet-dhi…

Dan Crenshaw put Jamie Raskin on the spot, accusing Senate Democrats of blocking bills on national security, affordability, and insider trading just to stop Republicans from getting a political win. But Raskin pushed back and turned the argument toward Trump. What happened next made this exchange even more heated. Host: Congressman Crenshaw, you will not be voting if there is an impeachment. You will not be here in the next Congress. Dan Crenshaw: It’s a little hard to believe the Democrats aren’t going to want to impeach Trump. It’s sort of a pastime, but I do hope there are things they can work on. Jamie Raskin: It’s our pastime to defend the Constitution. If he commits high crimes and misdemeanors, he’s subjecting himself to impeachment. Dan Crenshaw: How about FISA reform? We couldn’t get that passed. A lot of Democrats who were always for it all of a sudden were against it. How about the Taxpayer Protection Act? It passed out of the House overwhelmingly. Who blocked it? Senate Democrats. Why? Midterms. Don’t give Republicans a win. Let’s look at another one, the Stop Insider Trading Act. That corruption was a major campaign issue. Jamie Raskin: You’ll see that happen. Dan Crenshaw: Why did the Senate Democrats block the Stop Insider Trading Act? Jamie Raskin: You think Donald Trump wants to stop insider trading in the executive branch? Dan Crenshaw: I think he would vote for it. It passed overwhelmingly from Republicans. Jamie Raskin: Their whole administration is about insider trading. Dan Crenshaw: You are missing the point. Jamie Raskin: No, you’re missing the point, and you guys lost the election because you missed the point. Dan Crenshaw: These are pieces of legislation that would help the affordability issue, tackle corruption, and help national security things you guys agreed on. Stop Insider Trading Act, Taxpayer Protection Act, FISA. You guys blocked all of that because the midterms were coming. And I bet you’re going to be in favor of it after the midterms. Do not lie and say anything different. Jamie Raskin: All right. That’s politics.

This is really totally unsurprising if you don’t have the “money in politics ruins everything” brain worm. There’s a reason Tom Steyer isn’t governor of California and Bloomberg isn’t president!
There's a lot to focus on right now, but "The richest man to ever live just spent $200 million to support the Republican Senate candidate in Texas, and his man lost by double-digits in a statewide wipeout" is a completely insane sentence. Put another way, the most expensive US Senate race before 2020 was $200 million. *One guy* spent that amount in Texas, and it doesn't seem to have made any difference. It might have hurt in a kind of Streisand effect way, in that the spending level was seen as obscene to people sympathetic to the argument that billionaires shouldn't "buy" elections. The implications here seem pretty interesting! Especially re the limits of billionaire political power and/or the diminishing returns of money in politics.
