Jacob Fowler (#gohabsgo) stopped 34 shots with a .971 SV% tonight en route to a Montreal win at the NHL's Heritage Classic. Sounds like the former Eagle went to work 👷

James Hagens is the antithesis to this quote… driving the net constantly on his shifts. Rutger isn’t wrong. But still, just drive the net. Create chaos in the slot and score the easy goals. Hagens has 4/5/9 in 12 NHL GP this year.

Rutger McGroarty with an insightful take on the “get to the net” cliché and why timing matters more than simply going to the net: “I think overall, a lot of people just say, like, ‘Get to the net, get to the net, get to the net.’ But just going to the net, a lot of the time, is just kind of a dumb play, and that's what a lot of people don't realize. If you just go there and get tied up, I think arriving on time is a huge thing. I think that not being at the net front in a battle when the puck's behind the net, because that's worthless. I think that just arriving on time is a huge thing, and that's something that I've tried to work on a lot.” #LetsGoPens

Those close to me know how long I’ve raved about Brayden Willis Not only does he boast everything Jonny mentions here… he is consistently the hardest worker His brother showed it too. Brayden has it all. Talent, IQ, awareness, and damn heart 2028 Draft eligible by one day

James Hagens currently leads all NHL forwards with 16 blocked shots.  “It’s definitely something that I try to take pride in. It’s just the d-zone, and when a guy is getting ready to shoot, if that’s your guy, you’re going to make sure that you’re in the shooting lane.”  On taking on new roles as a pro:
“Yeah, definitely. You could be put in all different positions. You just have to make sure that you’re ready for it. You got to be able to prepare [for] when you’re out there, you know, whether that’s asking questions or just being able to watch other teammates, see how they’ve done or are doing in that role, and you try to do that to the best of your ability.”  @BOSHockeyNow | #NHLBruins

This is a rookie Trevor Connelly His potential at age-27 is sky high Very talented hockey player, was always bound for a major NHL role

Another great shift from Trevor Connelly. Cam Talbot makes the save on Braeden Bowman, but Tomáš Hertl is there to collect the change. 1-1

Wyatt Cullen scored a hat trick, and recorded an assist, in Minnesota’s route of North Dakota tonight The #Smashville prospect took over when Minny needed a star. Took a few games to get comfy. Now looks ready for the spotlight #Isles Jacob Kvasnicka also with a pair of assists

It's worth saying that this trade gives the #GoJetsGo one more Top 100 NHL Prospect Formerly, Viggo Bjorck was their only representation Their prospect pool ranked #28 in my summer rankings. Adding another A grade would move them to #24, at least Devils ranked #14 before this

I ranked Alexander Command as the #50 prospect in the NHL over the summer He finished #16 in my 2026 Draft rankings The #NJDevils top prospect, undoubtedly. Who is their #2 prospect? Goaltender Mikhail Yegorov... All of the sudden, tons of valuable goalie depth in NJ...

Now that Command is gone, who is the top pick in Sunny Mehta's tenure as #NJDevils GM? Matias Vanhanen - one of the ballsiest, and most statistically-backed, picks of the 2026 NHL Draft. Vanhanen has three points in as many games to start his college career. Not missing a beat.

We haven't seen a Hart Trophy winner change teams since 2018 winner Taylor Hall. Who did he play for when he won the Hart? The #NJDevils. Before Hall... it was 2016 Patrick Kane, 2011 Corey Perry, 2006 Joe Thornton (who won it across two teams)

Internal Budget Could Influence Penguins' Trading

The Pittsburgh Penguins could have a cash-strict budget guiding their decision to shop around veteran players and promote rookies.

We continue to expand the research section of our website by trying to push forward public hockey analysis Our new project focuses on trying to better understand the elements of how a goal was scored Please see this example using #GoHabsGo D Lane Hutson OT Goal vs. TBL last season through the 3D Visualizer Skeleton and Stick models still need some improvement obviously - but this is a good start and will continue to grow 3D Visualizer can be found here: hockeyalchemy.com/lab/shot-a…
