Khajaguda land scam: Private company allegedly grabs Rs. 680 crore government land with Congress backing⁉️ Bengaluru-based infra company entered Hyderabad’s real estate market with a major project in Khajaguda. Initially, the company obtained permission to use 1.17 acres of adjoining government land for six months, paying ₹68.97 lakh. However, it allegedly encroached upon additional land, prompting the then BRS government to intervene in January 2020, impose a penalty of ₹1.93 crore and reclaim the entire 3.17 acres. Following the Congress government’s arrival, the said company allegedly revived its attempts to occupy the land. The project, originally approved for 36 floors and 33 lakh sq. ft., reportedly expanded to 60 lakh sq. ft. across 38 floors through revised permissions. Allegations of building violations, reduced undivided land shares promised to buyers and discrepancies in approved plans have also surfaced. The most serious allegations concern the 3.17 acres of government land in Survey No. 20/1, valued at approximately ₹680 crore. Despite being classified as government land and appearing on the Section 22A prohibited list, the land allegedly underwent irregular transactions in June 2026, involving the infra company’s directors and subsequent sale deeds and development agreements. Records also reveal discrepancies in declared property valuations. The controversy extends to Thautonikunta lake, where the company allegedly constructed an unauthorised road through the water body. HYDRAA’s handling of the issue, including alleged pressure on Green Grace apartment residents to permit access through an existing road, has triggered a legal battle. The High Court has ordered status quo. Meanwhile, RERA has registered complaints concerning the project's delay and alleged diversion of funds. Although interim directions were issued in August 2025 to safeguard buyers' interests and ensure project completion, allegations persist that these orders remain unimplemented, even after subsequent High Court directions. The central question remains: who enabled these alleged irregularities, and why have government agencies failed to act decisively? A joint project in Manikonda involving the company’s director and another company, whose director is allegedly linked to a key political figure, raises further questions. Notably, a sale deed covering over 14,000 sq. ft. in that project was executed in the latter company's name before the government land was handed over.

‘Kabza Congress’: Senior minister alleges party has been hijacked by brokers A senior Congress minister has triggered a political stir in Telangana by describing the ruling party as “Kabza Congress”, alleging that those who recently joined the party have taken control, sidelining its long-time loyalists. The minister reportedly expressed anguish over the treatment of original Congress leaders in the government. Claiming to have been associated with the party since birth, the minister said it was painful to witness the current state of affairs, where newcomers were allegedly being given prominence over those who had worked for the party for decades. Intelligence agencies have reportedly submitted a report on the remarks to the Chief Minister. The minister also alleged that brokers were influencing key appointments, particularly nominations to MLC posts under the Governor’s quota. An individual who had previously been associated with an opposition party and later contested a Lok Sabha election on a Congress ticket is reportedly being considered for the post. A sitting MLA is alleged to have brokered the arrangement by approaching an MP from another state. The minister further claimed that the recommendations of senior ministers were being ignored, while a few individuals, including ministers and advisors, were exercising disproportionate influence over party and government affairs. Warning that the situation could damage the party, the minister said a detailed report would soon be submitted to the party leadership and that they would publicly raise their concerns. The remarks have assumed significance amid growing friction between ministers and MLAs. The issue is also expected to figure in Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, where some ministers may reportedly raise concerns over being sidelined and the public criticism directed at them by fellow legislators.
