Happy that @mayibuye_afrika made it into the system. As a founder,I know what it took to build it.The EC & @abahlalibM contributed most registration signatures, yet its people are hardly visible today.Papa Penny’s new song will soon be released🤞🏻“Shivambu u ndzi tirhisile!” 😂

That was not in Floyds plan, Mayibuye could have done way better nationally if I was still there. I would not be celebrating 1 seat bhuti, whoever worked for that seat must get it. I worked in building the organisation don’t tell me of a mere seat.

Watching these local election results, South Africa, WAKE UP! The heirs of colonialism have an appointment with our future. Black South Africans must unite. Our youth must organise, and traditional institutions reclaim their rightful place. We cannot surrender our future.

ONE YEAR LATER. A MEMORY. Looking back at this interview, I can confidently say that I have achieved, with success, everything I said I was going to embark on. The journey has not been without challenges, but I am grateful for the lessons, the growth and the opportunity to turn words into action. It is interesting how some people would rather reduce a woman’s journey, convictions and political contribution to narratives about who she loves, who she once loved, or whether she is a bitter ex-girlfriend. But I will not allow personal commentary to overshadow the work, the vision or the journey. My story is bigger than anyone’s assumptions about my personal life. As we are at the eve of the local government elections, I encourage every South African to participate and vote wisely. Look beyond personalities, friendships and political noise. I am particularly happy to see so many young people stepping forward as candidates, including members of @AzaniaMovement_ who have chosen to serve their communities through local government. I wish every member, mentee and young candidate, across all political parties and political formations they have chosen to represent, nothing but the best. May this generation understand that leadership is about responsibility, service and accountability. My prayer for South Africa, and Floyd @FloydShivambu : May God grant our nation wisdom, peace and discernment. May He guide our leaders, protect our communities and raise a generation that puts the interests of the people above personal ambition. May our democracy continue to give every citizen a voice and an opportunity to contribute to a better country. One year later, I am still standing, still building and still committed to the journey. The work speaks. The journey continues. 🇿🇦 Dress bought by @FloydShivambu 🙏🏼 From: Tami Sojini - Fashion Designer 46 Van Riebeeck Avenue, Edenvale Cell: 0826749078

On 18 July 2025, my friend Ntuza Eugene Mfaka, affectionately known as Ntuza, uSthathu, stood by me and his wife when I needed support, they are both on my speed dial, we did life together in the Eastern Cape. Ntuza was a businessman with a vision of establishing a Black-owned bank in South Africa and was working on it until his last days. He helped organise approximately 60 business stakeholders that confirmed to attend a stakeholders consultation in support of the work I was doing to build @mayibuye_afrika and establish its presence in the Eastern Cape. These were not strangers. They were businesspeople I had worked with and lived alongside in East London and Mdantsane around Amathole District, very respected business people . They came with a genuine interest in transformation and in contributing to the organisation’s growth. However, at the last minute, the eve of the consultation on 17 July in the evening , we were asked to combine the stakeholders’ consultation with a volunteers’ meeting 😳. The stakeholders felt the two engagements had different objectives. They wanted a serious conversation about business, transformation and the future of the organisation. I fought to keep the original arrangement, but I was overpowered. This was the beginning of the fall of Afrika Mayibuye Movement in the Eastern Cape. Despite approximately 60 confirmations, Ntuza was the one who said: “My friend, I will come. I am coming for you but I won’t stay these people don’t know you and they don’t want the Eastern Cape .” I remember how disappointed the other businesspeople were. I was honest with them, despite my position of being a Deputy President, the former SG Mahlaba and crew they were on a mission @FloydShivambu to date has blinded himself to, there were battles I simply could not win. Ntuza later told me something I never forgot. He said he was glad he attended because he had seen that I was surrounded by lions, namarhamncwa. But he reassured me: “Those lions will not harm you. The God I serve will remove their teeth. Just be careful Mamngxongo .”-he said. He also questioned whether there could be a future for me in an environment where people did not respect the work and relationships I was building. I wish I had understood the full weight of his words then. I believed so deeply in what we were building that I could not imagine things unfolding the way they did. A week ago, we spoke on the phone for over an hour. I never imagined that conversation would be among our last. Ntuza, my friend, you warned me. You saw things I was perhaps too hopeful to see. Thank you for your loyalty, your counsel and for standing by me when it mattered. Rest in peace, my friend. Your dream of a Black-owned bank must live on, @FloydShivambu missed out, he needs to watch your livestream funeral to understand what he lost through our network that was ready to support @mayibuye_afrika . 🕊️

A MESSAGE TO FLOYD SHIVAMBU AND MEMBERS OF THE AFRIKA MAYIBUYE MOVEMENT Firstly, I will never hate anyone for voting Mayibuye @mayibuye_afrika , supporting Floyd @FloydShivambu or believing in the movement. That is their democratic right, just as it is my right to speak about my own experiences. Please don’t interpret every criticism or personal expression as decampaigning. Floyd, I wish you would stop interpreting my opinions and personal experiences as political opposition. I may have associations with other political party leaders , but my discussions and personal experiences should not constantly be reduced to political affiliations. I have never spied for the @EFFSouthAfrica or @uMkhontoWesizw , or received any money from these organisations and I would appreciate it if my name were not associated with such assumptions. If I received any money I would not be sitting with school fees summons and lost my things, I’m not a sellout like you. I sacrificed almost everything because I believed in you. I sacrificed my time, my peace, my family life and even my relationship because of how much faith I had in you and what I believed we were building. Before you came into my life, I was happy, thriving and living my life. I believed in you, Floyd. Why is that so difficult to understand? I am a mother and an aunt. I have responsibilities, a family and a life beyond politics. It hurts and angers me when I feel that my character and dignity are being questioned or that I am being pushed out of spaces where I once belonged because of you. I am a human being who deserves respect, regardless of our political differences. I also want you to go back and read our WhatsApp conversations from last year. Read them carefully and revisit the information I shared with you. I believe there is important context in those conversations that you may have overlooked. I would appreciate being heard based on the full history of our communication rather than assumptions. Regarding the people and conversations that shaped your understanding of what was happening, I would rather you consider my perspective and allow me to explain my own experiences. I had reasons for asking questions and trying to understand certain developments. I would like those reasons to be heard in their proper context or else andizoyeka uba yingcongconi until you kill me. I am not asking anyone to abandon Mayibuye. I am not asking anyone to stop voting for the movement. But please understand that I will not surrender my voice, erase my sacrifices or pretend that my experiences never happened simply because elections are approaching. I believed in Floyd. I believed in Mayibuye. I gave that movement a part of my life that I can never recover. At the very least, I deserve to be allowed to speak about what that experience cost me. You can focus on the 2026 elections. I, too, have a right to speak about my personal experiences. Supporting people’s democratic right to vote and exercising my own freedom of expression are not mutually exclusive. My story is not decampaigning. It is my lived experience, and I have every right to tell it.

PAPA PENNY, I HOPE YOUR STORY HAS A DIFFERENT ENDING. In May I publicly advised Papa Penny to rather concentrate on avocados than get caught up in @FloydShivambu ’s politics. Some thought I was being sarcastic, but my warning came from personal experience. Watching Papa Penny work so hard with his constituency, mobilising people and bringing numbers to rallies, I cannot help but remember the former Second Deputy President of @mayibuye_afrika , Robert Nwedo @MawusaMovement . Robert did similar groundwork. He invested his time, energy and influence in the political project. I, too, invested in that journey. Unfortunately, Robert and I have our own experiences of political promises that, in our view, were never fulfilled. Even the Ford Ranger Floyd gave Cde Robert eventually found its way to Papa Penny. Interesting how the political cast changes, but some of the scenes seem familiar! I for Papas sake, that this time the promises match the work being put in. Papa Penny, you will remember how Floyd asked me to leave @EFFSouthAfrica for @uMkhontoWesizw. I did not simply change political parties. I was asked to relocate, and I did. I uprooted my life, changed my entire family structure and made enormous personal sacrifices because I believed in @FloydShivambu the commitments and promises made to me. You even accommodated me in your home while I patiently waited for Floyd to act. Imagine relocating your life and rearranging your family’s circumstances because you believe someone will honour their word. When Floyd eventually acted to start @mayibuye_afrika , I believe he lied to me for the second time. The consequences were devastating. I have now spent three years out of work. My insurance policies collapsed, my retirement plans collapsed, medical aid, my cars were taken, and I faced summonses over school fees. These were not just political disappointments; they were real-life consequences that affected me and my family and Floyd just doesn’t care and not bothered instead he’ll rather assassinate one’s character to finish you off. What remains particularly painful is the feeling that once Floyd got what he wanted, those who had held his hand when he was unfamiliar with the political terrain were no longer useful. That is why I look at Papa Penny’s political journey with particular interest. Shame, one can see how hard he is working. He is mobilising, bringing people together and delivering the numbers. I sincerely hope that his commitment is appreciated, his sacrifices recognised and his future protected. Papa Penny, I sincerely hope your story has a different ending. We are watching, and we are keeping you in our prayers. As for me, I would rather enjoy my avocado salad than gamble with Floyds political promise. Some lessons are simply too expensive. Politics should be about building people, not using people as stepping stones. People have families, responsibilities, dreams and destinies. They are not disposable once their usefulness has been exhausted. Some people build the numbers, some make the promises, and others are left to deal with the consequences. May this time be different for Papa Penny. @Patricia_Bantom

I’ll keep saying this: I genuinely believed in @FloydShivambu. I believed in him wholeheartedly, and I gave it my all. Listen to this video and others throughout my service in @mayibuye_afrika . Listen to my passion, my conviction and how deeply I believed in the vision. This was not political convenience. I committed my time, energy, resources and future to what I believed we were building. It is now a year since someone I trusted, someone I invested so much of myself in, allegedly set out to dismantle everything I had built and everything I stood for, almost overnight. Who does that? What kind of person can be so destructive towards someone who genuinely believed in them? I have been robbed, cloned and deceived before, but never have I experienced anything quite like this. I would call it a devastating betrayal of trust, the kind that leaves you questioning not only the person who betrayed you, but your own ability to believe in people. I lost everything, in every sense of the word materially, emotionally and practically. I took that political call as seriously as those who followed Jesus, left everything behind and committed themselves to a cause bigger than themselves. The difference, perhaps, is that Jesus did not lie to those who followed Him. I knew politics was rough and unforgiving, but I never imagined that people could be so deeply disappointing. The experience has changed me. I question almost everything now. Trust, loyalty, people's intentions nje. I never imagined I would reach a point where I struggle to trust anything or anyone. What makes this even more difficult is what I experienced as an attempt to destroy my character through paranoia, falsehoods and suspicion. Imagine having to rebuild yourself after someone you believed in has, in your view, worked to undermine your name and everything you stood for. My press briefing will still happen. Nothing gets stale when it concerns truth, accountability and the restoration of one's dignity. Some things deserve to be addressed, regardless of how much time has passed. And today, Floyd is mocking President Zuma. The irony is quite something. I wonder whether he ever stops to consider the people who were left picking up the pieces along the way. I genuinely feel for those who still believe, who are still investing their hopes, sacrifices and loyalty. I know what it means to believe wholeheartedly. Perhaps the greatest political education is discovering that not everyone who speaks the language of the struggle is necessarily committed to its people. I really believed in Floyd. That is the part I will never pretend did not happen. Listen to this video again, and revisit my contributions throughout @mayibuye_afrika. You will understand just how much I believed, how passionately I participated and how deeply I committed myself. Some lessons come at a price. This one cost me more than I could ever have imagined.

As we approach the 4 November Local Government Elections, @IECSouthAfrica may God grant His people wisdom, discernment, and the courage to choose organisations, leaders who understand that public office is a sacred responsibility, not a personal possession. Leadership is about service, not self-enrichment; not proving points, not transferring inherited political battles to innocent ordinary people, Leadership is about serving, it’s about protecting the people's dignity, heritage, land, and inheritance izwe lokhokho bethu, not claiming what belongs to generations past and those yet unborn. Leadership is about understanding people and principles of ubuntu. May we learn to distinguish genuine commitment from ambition, substance from promises, and service from personal interest. May our decisions be guided by truth, justice, and the wisdom of God. For now, I choose prayer, reflection, and silence. Not every season requires an announcement; some seasons require preparation. Oksalayo, the calling remains and in God's appointed time, purpose will speak. 🙏🏽 “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice.” — Proverbs 29:2 #votewisely #LGE2026 #visionunfolding #GodblessSouthAfrica #nolubabalomcinga

Re the Katlehong mass shooting and the allegations surrounding Comrade Fani Sibeko of @mayibuye_afrika I do not wish to comment further on the matter itself. I am deeply disappointed, though not surprised, by the political culture emerging within a movement I helped build. This is not the kind of organisation we promised the people of South Africa. Comradeship means standing together through difficult moments, hearing all sides and respecting due process. It does not mean defending wrongdoing, but neither should it mean distancing ourselves from our own before the facts are established. This leadership worked for the organisation, he was committed and alleged this fight was him standing up for his organisation, his comrade @SkeemGp_SA and his president @FloydShivambu we will hear from the court proceedings. Having experienced political disappointment myself, I understand how painful these moments can be. I think of @PapaPennyAhee , Comrade Eric Gezani and @SkeemGp_SA Comrade Themba Lukhele Ndzimande, whom I know as leaders who value brotherhood and stand firmly by those they support. My sincere condolences to the families affected by the Katlehong tragedy, the @MYANC ANCYL Ekurhuleni Region and the ANC mother body. I also congratulate the ANC on its Constitutional Court victory. The judgment highlights the importance of constitutional remedies and the right of political parties to seek justice through lawful processes.@MbalulaFikile uphile Jola, Qengeba. I will continue to pray for, @mayibuye_afrika . May God guide the movement’s leadership and help it remain grounded in, compassion and the values it seeks to represent. I am deeply disappointed nyan-nyani, but I have not lost hope. I will pray for the organisation, even when I cannot agree with its direction. 🙏🏽

My prayer is for fresh leaders in this country, people who are not carrying inherited political battles, but who carry a genuine desire to serve. Politics is not supposed to be about surnames, political connections, being part of a ANC youth league, or speaking the “leadership” political language. Politics is about people, service, justice, and creating a better society. Today, too many battles are about power and survival, while the original causes freedom, dignity, jobs, and safe communities are forgotten. History has always been changed by people who were willing to step forward. I believe a new generation of leaders will rise. The future belongs to leaders who serve, not those who only seek positions.
