In collaboration with NTP, Dr. Jen Spinney (@jspinney19) and her research team at YorkU are launching a survey for residents of Barrie, ON whose homes were structurally impacted by the July 15, 2021 EF2 tornado. Dr. Spinney’s research study aims to understand behaviours and decisions made by residents during the tornado as well as during the reconstruction and recovery process. Understanding the impacts of tornadoes on Canadians is important work – if your home in Barrie was damaged and you haven't already spoken with a YorkU researcher, please consider completing the survey. #BarrieON

An NTP investigation, in collaboration with @ECCCWeatherAB, has concluded that the worst damage from the July 1st Didsbury tornado is rated EF4 on the Enhanced Fujita scale, making it the highest-rated AB tornado since Edmonton in 1987.

The second annual @westernuNTP Tornado Warning Performance Assessment is now complete, with some good news. Many more tornado alerts were issued by ECCC in 2022, and scores improved - resulting a passing grade. Report card below.

Over 230 'missing' Canadian tornadoes found!
In Ontario, 103 tornadoes were discovered, followed by 98 in Quebec, 9 in Manitoba, 6 in Saskatchewan, 9 in Alberta, 5 in British Columbia and 1 in New Brunswick.
