#Media, if you are granted access to #Barrhaven in #ottawa, consider that you may be filming damage to a home that the homeowner is unaware of. This can add emotional strain to their experience @@weathernetwork @jillyonthehilly @CBCOttawa @globeandmail @ctvottawa @JackiePerez__

An NTP survey team will leave Western@London later this afternoon to investigate this damaging tornado in Ottawa today, as well as damage from any other tornadoes that may have occurred with this potent storm system.
Damage reports should be sent to ECCC if real-time, otherwise please send to@NTP_Reports, [email protected], or via our web page after the fact.
Our thoughts are with those affected by the tornado today. Thankfully not hearing reports of injuries at this time.

A good day in #Barrie distributing door hangers for our #survey on #tornado #recovery. A #severeweather #watch plus thunder, lightning and downpours of rain caused us to halt efforts for the day. Another member from the #yorku team will continue with recruitment tomorrow!
In collaboration with NTP, Dr. Jen Spinney (@jspinney19) and her research team at YorkU are launching a survey for residents of Barrie, ON whose homes were structurally impacted by the July 15, 2021 EF2 tornado. Dr. Spinney’s research study aims to understand behaviours and decisions made by residents during the tornado as well as during the reconstruction and recovery process. Understanding the impacts of tornadoes on Canadians is important work – if your home in Barrie was damaged and you haven't already spoken with a YorkU researcher, please consider completing the survey. #BarrieON

Unfortunately, @oncanadaproject, I have to disagree with you on this one. ECCC did not wake up and choose violence.

#OTD in 1987, the Edmonton F4 tornado occurred. To this day, this remains the strongest documented tornado to hit the province, leaving a path of destruction ~31 km long and up to 1300 m wide in some areas. It killed 27 people and injured 300, destroying more than 300 home. #ABwx
