The transition effort by Drummond that prompted a quick timeout and a benching.
It appears Mike Brown has benched Andre Drummond in favor of James Wiseman (who is struggling, 0-for-5). Here is what Brown said pregame about playing Wiseman:
“First thing I wanna make clear is we have our starting five. Other than that, anybody can play. When you’re a backup in this league, that doesn’t mean you’re always gonna be the seventh man or you’re always gonna be the eighth man. No, no, no, no, no, no. It’s competitive. And it’s less so with the starting group if your starting group is established, which ours is, but everybody else after that starting five, I can throw in front of the next guy in a heartbeat.”
Drummond really struggled in Friday's loss in Boston.

Tried warning ya. Our backup big rotation last season was very solid. 2 of the better defensive anchor bigs has now become the Drummond + Wiseman show…and what a show it is…neither can make a shot within 4 feet of the basket and the defense that was our calling card last year at the big man position has disappeared.
The 2 bigs played only 14 mins combined as the Knicks struggled against Orlando, losing their 3rd straight.
Last season Mitchell Robinson averaged 17 mpg + Hukporti 8/9 mpg. Thats a significant difference to tonight, only seeing 14 combined mins was a big drop off

Knicks need to play more aggressively!
Mike Brown says the Knicks need to win more 50-50 balls and maintain energy throughout the entire game to get better.

The Giants lost Jaxson Dart on the seventh snap of Week 2. They were 1-1 and looked finished.
They're 4-2-1 now. Jameis Winston kept them alive, J.J. McCarthy won his first start today in Houston, and they lead the NFC East by two games.
They've won with three different starting quarterbacks in seven games, which no team had done since the 2016 Patriots.
That doesn't happen by luck. It tells you the coaching is good, the run game is real and the locker room believes in it.

John Harbaugh took over a last-place Giants team that had endured double-digit loss totals in eight of the past nine seasons.
Now they’re first in the NFC East and have matched their win total from last season.
Despite losing their starting QB, sack leader and leading tackler to injuries.
Coaching is important.

Andre Drummond was asked if he has an idea of what his role with the team will be:
"Nope. I'm just here to work. When my number's called, I'm prepared to play."

And that trade is still inevitable. Drummond is not a Championship backup center. The opposition sees food on that bench when they see Drummond and not Mitch or someone like him. #Knicks

No one on the opposition gets anxious or scared with Drummond coming off the bench that’s for sure. Opposition actually just sees FOOD when they look at our bench and see no Mitch. That trade needs to happen #Knicks
