We will miss him in our daily Breakfast Show.
Tate Lamech was a constant regular in the Namibia House on clubhouse rooms. He rarely if ever missed the breakfast show every morning and was not shy to come to the stage to share or just have a little fun. Rest well Tate Lamech. Rest peacefully.
Veteran NBC employee Lamech Mwanyangapo, has died after a long battle with multiple myeloma, a rare form of cancer. He was 61.
A prominent cancer advocate, he founded the Lamech Mwanyangapo Cancer Association, which promotes outreach, annual screening, and early-detection awareness.
Mwanyangapo was diagnosed in April 2023 and underwent multiple treatments in Cape Town, including a bone marrow and stem cell transplant. After his treatment he campaigned to raise awareness and to establish an oncology centre in the northern parts of Namibia.
His former colleagues described him as dedicated, hardworking, kind, and caring.
He is survived by his wife and five children.
