RCMP say the Trans-Canada Highway is currently closed between the cloverleaf (Pitts Memorial Drive/Outer Ring Road) and Exit 39 (Foxtrap Access Road), as emergency crews respond to a wildfire near Paddy’s Pond.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area and delay any non-essential travel on the Trans-Canada Highway.

Keep your eyes peeled! Someone spotted a North Atlantic right whale skim feeding at the surface just off Long Pond, Conception Bay on 1 Nov. Lots of copepods in the area. New England Aquarium IDed her as #1408 , "Freckles", born in 2013 and never before recorded in Canada.

According to BBC News a submersible used to take people to view the wreck of the Titanic has gone missing in the Atlantic Ocean.
The Boston Coastguard told the BBC on Monday that a search and rescue mission is now underway.
