Yes! Excellent info! 👏
Scientific Vitality Suggestions (TM) is a new Vitality Explorer feature focused on helping high-capacity people take the friction out of staying vital.
Every week I read dozens of scientific papers in search of specific actionable ideas to help us improve our physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being.
Here are this week’s recommendations:
1. Eat a handful of peanuts once a day to improve your brain blood flow and memory.
2. Drink a small amount of 100% cranberry juice to reduce your dental plaque.
3. Belly fat and smoking both increase systemic inflammation and the risk of cardiovascular disease. Eat less and eat less often to reduce your waistline. Also, stop or never smoke.
What do you think @LoriShemek
All of these recommendations are based on peer reviewed published papers. Here is a link to the full post to review the data: vytext.com/2p9dsjfz

What is the fastest and most powerful way to improve your gut microbiome? Cut out sugar and processed junk foods.
✨Sugar feeds unhealthy gut bacteria
✨Weakens the gut lining - damaging intestinal wall.
✨Causes dysbiosis
✨Triggers digestive issues
Unhealthy gut bacteria literally needs sugar & refined foods (junk foods, white flour etc.) to live, to thrive. This causes you to crave sugar. Stop Feeding Them.

You know what happens before an arrow flies forward? It gets pulled BACK. 🏹🔥
Well, life has been doing a WHOLE lot of pulling me backward lately.
A blood clot in my brain and days spent in the hospital weren’t exactly part of my hunting season plans. 🙃
But here’s the thing…
Don’t mistake a setback for a surrender.
Right now, my focus is on healing. On getting stronger. On finding my footing (figuratively speaking, of course 😂) and getting back to the things I love.
And when the time comes to draw that bow again, you’d better believe I’ll be ready.
This setback might be BIG…but the COMEBACK is going to be even BIGGER. 💪🏼💜
I’ve still got targets to hit, adventures to chase, and a whole lot of life left to LIVE!
Everything is OVERCOMABLE. 💜

If you’ve ever wondered how to support me, tomorrow you can start with something simple: wear orange. 🧡
Tomorrow, November 2, is #CRPSOrangeDay. For me, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome is deeply personal. It changed my life and ultimately led to the loss of both my legs.
I can’t make everyone understand what living with CRPS feels like. But I can keep using my voice—and ask you to help this message reach someone who needs to know they aren’t alone.
🧡 Wear orange tomorrow.
📸 Post a photo and tag me @whitscomplex so I can see you!
🔁 Share this video to help spread awareness.
When someone asks why you’re wearing orange, tell them about CRPS. That conversation matters.
Who’s going orange with me tomorrow? 🧡

“These findings make berberine a promising compound for cardiovascular health, with potential benefits spanning lipid metabolism, artery health, and the gut microbiome.” 👏
Berberine lowers LDL cholesterol in randomized trials. I'm interested in how that connects to ApoB, artery plaque, and the gut microbiome.
A meta-analysis pooling 14 placebo-controlled trials found an average LDL reduction of approximately 18 mg/dL.
Recent randomized-trial evidence also found reductions in ApoB, which estimates the number of circulating particles that can contribute to atherosclerosis.
Early clinical evidence also suggests berberine can reduce plaque in the arteries. And at least one of those studies also found a modest reduction in TMAO, a metabolite linked to gut microbial metabolism and implicated in atherosclerosis.
One interesting detail from the newer research: ApoB decreased in both men and women, with a larger response in women.
In a new placebo-controlled trial in women, berberine lowered ApoB by about 13 mg/dL relative to placebo. Researchers compared those results with an earlier trial in men and found evidence suggesting women had a stronger lipid response.
What is interesting is that this may just be a dose-dependent effect. In a separate study, women had almost three times the blood exposure to berberine after the same dose.
Together, these findings make berberine a promising compound for cardiovascular health, with potential benefits spanning lipid metabolism, artery health, and the gut microbiome.

Retirement isn't just a career choice; sometimes it's a medical necessity. Facing the reality of declining health while fighting to maintain a strong work ethic is a heavy burden. How do you find balance when your body can no longer keep up? #HealthJourney #Resilience

Important Info:
Research has found that the bacteria behind chronic gum disease, especially one called P. gingivalis, can travel from inflamed gums into the bloodstream and even reach the brain, where scientists have detected it in the brains of Alzheimer’s patients. The chronic, body-wide inflammation that gum disease fuels is itself tied to faster cognitive decline. 👉 In other words, the mouth and the brain are more connected than we ever realized.
Additionally, not just alzheimer’s, but other health conditions such as cardiovascular disease, lung issues, obesity, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, colorectal cancer.
Pathogenic, oral bacteria cause direct infections in the mouth and contribute to numerous systemic diseases when they spread through the bloodstream, saliva, or lower respiratory tract.
And the good news? It’s preventable! 👏 Flossing, brushing your teeth twice a day, seeing the dentist all are prevention. There are also oral probiotic lozenges available to build greater colonies of healthy, oral bacteria and crowd out the pathogenic bacteria.

I actually cannot believe high school girls are still having to take it upon themselves to enact change against an obvious injustice.
Not the adults, or the coaches, or the Governor, or the sporting governing body...the 14 year old girls.

The Box Breathing Technique used by the Navy Seals is powerful in reducing stress and anxiety immediately.
- Just a minute or two will generate a relaxation response.
- Enhances oxygen delivery
-It can also help prevent and reduce high blood pressure and lowers heart rate.
-Box Breathing can also promote long term stress resilience - changes how to be less responsive to stress and how to calm that response.
Box Breathing Technique:
1. Inhale: Breathe in slowly through your nose for a count of 4 seconds.
2. Hold: Retain the air in your lungs for a count of 4 seconds.
3. Exhale: Release all the air slowly through your mouth or nose for a count of 4 seconds.
4. Hold: Keep your lungs completely empty for a final count of 4 seconds before repeating.

Stunning Research:
Creatine isn’t just a gym supplement.
In a 12-week Texas A&M trial, adults 45–65 taking 10 grams a day gained lean tissue and strength even WITHOUT a workout plan.
Add lifting, cardio, and a small calorie cut, and they kept muscle while losing more fat than exercise and diet alone.
Blood sugar, cholesterol, and memory markers moved too.
With training and creatine even bigger gains. But 10 g of creatine monohydrate did a lot more than most people expect.
BREAKING: Study finds 10g of creatine per day added 2.4 POUNDS of lean mass in 12 weeks WITHOUT EXERCISE.
Creatine ALONE also improved:
- Muscular strength
- Muscular endurance
- Cognitive processing speed
- Delayed memory recall
- Episodic memory
- HbA1c
- Triglycerides
- HDL cholesterol
- VLDL cholesterol
Combining creatine WITH EXERCISE produced even greater physical gains and additional improvements in memory and cognitive processing.
Some of the increase in lean mass may reflect increased intracellular water from creatine, not solely new muscle tissue.
Importantly, this was a gold-standard study design: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial.

Cancer Absolutely Hates Mushrooms.
Pennsylvania State University researchers analyzed mushroom consumption on cancer risk, involving 19,500 patients.
The subjects in the highest-consumption - 2/3 of an ounce of any type of mushrooms daily - had a 45% lower risk of developing cancer.
Mushrooms are a powerful preventative.

At the end of the day, I don’t want a life that looks good to other people. I want one that feels good to me.
For a long time I measured my life by what it was supposed to look like. Two legs. Staying in a broken marriage. Dreams placed on shelves for fear of failure. A version of “making it” that would make sense to everyone else.
None of that is my life today though.
It’s starting over at 44, telling the truth even when it’s ugly, & carefully choosing who you let into your fold.
You know you’ve made it when you stop caring what the world thinks.
Keep going. The version that is authentic is the one that lasts.

This week I have been looking back at the girl who thought her life was over.
Four years ago, nothing happened the way I wanted. Not the surgery. Not the recovery. Not the people I thought would stay. I had a picture in my head of how it was all supposed to go, and that picture shattered.
And still — here I am.
Building a life I could not have written if I tried.
If it does not happen the way you wanted, it does not mean it is over. Sometimes the plan that scares you, breaks you, and reroutes you is the one that gives you back to yourself in a better way than you imagined.
That is the beauty of God’s plan.
Keep going.
Keep climbing.
The story is still being written.
