Man, the fight these Pacers are playing with is commendable. This is a HUGE opportunity for them that they likely won't get again, and they're making the most of it.
Does it really matter if they don’t have an airport?

Lidstrom: Dylan Larkin is a bitch.
Credit to user GarlicbreadTB on the Red Wings Hfboard for the transcript.
Here is Lidstrom on Larkin:
Lidstrom on Larkin on a Swedish NHL podcast. You can tell he wasn't very impressed by Larkin via his tone of voice.
"He reported to training camp. Although injured, but he was there and began the season. but felt he had enough via his agent he told us a few days ago he will stay home and await a trade. Very disappointing, he's a player who signed an eight year contract who we've paid handsomely. When you give someone an eight year contract you plan your organization around that and assume he will stick around for it."
Host: "He's your captain too"
Lidstrom: "Yes our captain. He recieved a no-trade which is a protection for the player to not get traded. We've had him in our plans for future goals all along. It's a big miss. A first line C and all of the sudden he's not there, and he has to be replaced and it's not very easy to do when he got a no-trade clause and he can control where he wants to go. He got a list of teams he wants to go, but we also have to find the right deal with those teams and we don't wanna give him away for free just because he wants to leave. We have to get things back to continue to build our team.
Host #2: "It gets a little absurd when he got a no-trade clause and asks for a trade and severely hinders which teams Detroit can trade him to. They're tied to a few teams. The team gets almost handcuffed by Larkin"
Lidstrom: "Absolutely. This situation we're seeing in the case of Larkin, we're a little bound to what he wants, where he wants to go. Hence why this situation is perhaps not going as quickly as we all hoped"

couple other thoughts
- the blue jackets wearing gray jerseys is pretty goofy, given their whole "union army" gimmick. read a book for god's sake!
- i stand with dallas' ongoing commitment to neon green
- devils have the best of the black alts
- blues are the worst by a lot
Turns out the Penguins' new jersey is really good, actually. One of the very best of the batch.

In their 4 point loss, the Pacers used only 6 players against the Hawks.
That is the earliest into a season a team has used 6 or fewer players in a game since the Lakers in 1948 vs the Celtics.
The Lakers used only 5 players in their 3rd game of the season

The Pacers should get a standing ovation leaving the court tonight. 6 man rotation for an entire NBA game is insane
