May have let his visa lapse because he didn't want to comply with the covid vax requirement. Checkmate woke left AND woke right!
My brother invites me every other year to a convention that is appropriate for adults and teens. I love him very much but I did the math and for the same cost (plane tickets, convention, splitting Airbnb) I could take my entire family to Disneyland so I always decline lol
We are doing one day of Universal Studios California in a few weeks. Any advice? I haven't been in 20 years and never with kids.
I am like a 2010 lib on immigration; i think everyone in Sey's situation (not a criminal, working, has a family) should be conditionally released to work on getting legal status. So my stance on the immigration aspect is leniency. My stance on the hypocrisy aspect...
I don't make my kids hug 🤷 I think it's weird to teach your kids that physical affection is an obligation. There are lots of ways they can be polite if they don't want to hug and I like that they know they can say no and sometimes practice doing so in a low stakes environment
Replying to @oliveegger
Yeah this is part of it for me. I don't make my kids hug 🤷 I think it's fine for them to not hug an adult who is weirdly insistent on it. They are affectionate children who choose to hug appropriate family members 99% of the time. Even if you make kids hug grandma you do have to
The flip side of this is that if you pick all easy music and hymn arrangements, people will be bored and not see the point of going to choir vs just singing with the congregation. Tell your choir director if you need a little help! And bless you for going to choir!

I have done a fair amount of Airbnb and my parents have done a lot and I've really only had one experience where they had an unreasonable chore list. But that confirms that they should do this policy because it won't even affect most hosts. Just the crazy ones.
Since everyone is already mad at me, I’ve never been in an air bnb that asked me to do anything unreasonable. I think taking the trash with me is annoying but kind of makes sense if I want to stay in a mountain town with bears. Some of them have ridiculous fees but I’ve just never booked those ones lol
Has to be satire lol
Recently I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about being asked to clean an Airbnb when they’ve already paid a cleaning fee
As a host, I find this attitude quite worrying
My wife and I rent out the apartment in Germany. We charge a €145 cleaning fee, and we still expect guests to:
1. Strip the beds and start a wash, separating whites from colours
2. Wash, dry and put away all dishes
3. Sweep and mop the floors
4. Take out all rubbish, separating paper, cardboard, clear glass, coloured glass, plastics, metal, organic waste and residual waste
5. Take bottles with a deposit to the supermarket return machine.
6. Send photos showing the apartment is ready before the 8:30am checkout
These tasks must be completed before departure. If you have an early flight, allow time the evening before
The cleaning fee pays for professional cleaning. It does not pay for someone to pick up after you
Here in Europe, we teach children to leave a place as they found it
I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect the same from adults on holiday
