Got exactly what we deserved. I genuinely can’t get over what we’ve seen from Tuchel there. This feels so much worse than Croatia, Italy, Spain. It was right there for England, playing well, leading, great options on the bench and he’s just completing botched it tactically. Thrown the initiative away and gone out in pretty pathetic style. So disappointing.

Of all the major semis and finals England have blown that's the worst. Entirely self inflicted. Paid Tuchel to win trophies, and he absolutely fucked it. 100% on him. England on top, dictating the pattern of the game. Have the better players. Decide to play into Argentina's strengths and by dropping so deep completely negated their weaknes on transition. Tuchel hired to avoid the Southgate trap of running out of ideas at a key stage of a semifinal / final, but ended up doing exactly the same

Thomas Tuchel was appointed so England won the big games. The tactics and the substitutions after taking the lead failed miserably. Trying to hold on to a lead, inviting constant pressure for half an hour. If this had been Gareth Southgate… There was no attacking threat after Gordon scored. Awful. Thanks for the memories.

The only difference between Thomas Tuchel & Gareth Southgate is the nationality of his passport. He makes the exact same tactical choices & baffling in game decisions, continuing to skate by on the talent at his disposal ahead of actual coaching nous.
