advocating w/o pay is hard to justify when the bills come. you try to be a voice for those who cant attend but end up being one of them when you can't afford it anymore.

After over a year of voluntary cooperation...
Public safety remains my highest priority. I signed an executive order directing HPD to limit contact with ICE, keeping officers focused on violent crime and helping reduce fear among Houston families, students, and workers.

A big part of Mayor Whitmire's pitch to Houstonians is that he can say he has good relations with Republicans in Austin. He won't be able to say that in the 2027 election.

Yes, 11th street bike lanes have succeeded in improving the efficiency and enjoyment of @RodneyEllis’s recreational bike rides. However, no decisions is costless, by cutting the lanes in half (also limits the ability to make right or left turns), vehicular traffic has been pushed into neighborhoods, decreasing pedestrian safety and increasing congestion.

We need more of this. Here's District H @MarioforHouston on a bike bus to school!
In 1969, nearly 90% of kids who lived within a mile of school walked or rode their bike. 40 years later, that dropped to 35%. Parents are used to treating their kids like cargo. I wonder how much of the unhealthy habit is a fear-based urge to hover over everything.

Went to go vote and a guy wouldn’t remove his Trump hat after being kindly asked (you’re not allowed to wear campaign stuff when voting). Started to get loud and accused others of being emotional.

Yesterday, staffers for Daniel Wong, the Republican nominee for Fort Bend County Judge, nearly ran me AND a group of small children over in the parking lot of the Missouri City Library. And then BOTH of them had the audacity to get out and argue with ME about it?! Almost running over voters and CHILDREN while wearing your candidate’s campaign shirt is actually INSANE work.

The cartree people aka the Montrose NIMBY's are as quiet as a dead tree. Because it was never about the trees of course.
It's not just about watering. These trees were moved for the Ismaili Center grand opening show and tell for Whitmire at a cost of $60,000. Then returned. It's no wonder they are dead and dying. The Montrose TIRZ gaslights the public constantly to cover up their incompetence.

October is pedestrian safety month. Please remember that high visibility alone won't make people safer at crosswalks.

Would anyone like to explain the motion versus ordinance vote thing today? In my 6+years of watching city council it's never come up.
