“If you felt relaxed, supported, and powerful…
you’d drink like someone who feels relaxed, supported, and powerful.”
What if alcohol isn’t the real problem?
It’s not about the alcohol.

Your beliefs about alcohol are actually the problem
Think about it—
We teach kids to stop, drop & roll
You know to look both ways before pulling out into traffic
We even teach our dogs to not chase the squirrels…
Yet somehow we all have come under the illusion that somehow we’re powerless to a craving?
No.
An urge is just a moment.
A split-second impulse.
You can learn to respond differently.

Research shows:
The #1 reason people overdrink. . . isn’t alcohol.
It’s what they believe about alcohol.
I get it.
People say mindful drinking is dangerous.
But you know what’s more dangerous?
Telling someone they have no control over themselves.
That belief alone keeps people stuck.

“If one drink means relapse, might as well spiral”—right?
That lie keeps people stuck.
One drink isn’t failure. It’s a moment.
You didn’t lose your power—you’re still in control.
You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to keep going.

13:42 - Obsessing over sobriety is its own addiction
15:29 - Most recovery models are keeping people sick
16:29 - Fear keeps people compliant—and sick
23:36 - “Powerlessness” is a cult
