Great ad @HaleyforMI!
Vote for Abdul 2026!
New @RebellionPac ad dropping in Michigan. We have to suffer here at home, so Israel can get all its wars. That’s why they buy politicians like Mike Rogers. He promised to serve Israel “unconditionally,” but never made that promise to you.
El-Sayed: None of this matters. You know what matters? There are families who are preparing to send their kids to schools tomorrow that look like they did 50 years ago. They're worried about what they're going to feed their kids for lunch. They're worried that if one of their kids gets sick, they're not going to be able to pay the bills. Those are the things that matter.
El-Sayed: At the end of the day, I actually don't think about Haley Stevens. Because you know what? I'm just less interested in the politics of it all than I am in the policy of it all…
If you are somebody who believes that we should stand up to hate, and you have watched this last campaign, I think we probably would not want to support Mike Rogers and Donald Trump and JD Vance. If you're somebody who believes that we need more health care, not less than you probably don't want to vote for the guy who voted to raise prescription drug prices or keep them high 19 times and takes money from big pharma and big insurance. If you're somebody who believes in public education, you probably do not want to support the guy who architected the initial legislation in 1999 that ended up stripping local control from Detroit public schools and the local community. If you're somebody who believes that you should have a right to a union, you probably don't want to support the guy who busts unions. So I'm just saying that the principles that we believe in as Democrats are really quite clear. I stand for all of them.

if Abdul el sayed was interested in party unity he would have gone with Haley Stevens so they could endorse Mike Rogers together. instead he is sowing division by trying to win

Come Wednesday, if Abdul wins I don’t want to hear a word from ANYONE about his margin and any “underperformance.” Between Haley’s fuckery, the $70 million spent against him in the primary, and the insanely racist attacks on him, an Abdul victory will be one of the most impressive feats in political history.

Haley Stevens’ betrayal today shows us it’s not that progressive Democrats, or even democratic socialists, need their own party. It’s that politicians like Haley Stevens always had more in common with Republicans like Mike Rogers and Donald Trump than with the Democratic base. And now she admits it.
That’s why it’s so important to run democratic primaries. It’s not enough to send Democrats to Washington, we have to send Democrats who are fighting for the things working class voters want!

Breaking my own rule and writing a Twitter essay...
Two days before the midterms, Haley Stevens, the beneficiary of AIPAC’s record-setting $30 million in her primary, appeared with Republican Senate nominee Mike Rogers at Perfecting Church in Detroit where she claimed that Rogers would “take on” investing in Black-owned businesses. She then endorsed him.
This attempted ratfuck is galling for any number of reasons, but what disgusts me most is the willingness of these genocidal white politicians to use Black voters as human shields for their racism against Abdul El-Sayed. Rogers has run one of the most racist Senate campaigns this century, and yet, Stevens is now climbing aboard while ostensibly professing concern for Black voters.
This is an instructive moment in understanding why Zionists must be purged from the party: as believers in a supremacist project themselves, they view Black voters as a faction to be weaponized, not as constituents who deserve genuine representation. They are saboteurs in the broader fight for racial justice. A belief in an ethnostate sustained through apartheid, force, genocide, and domination is fundamentally incompatible with an anti-fascist, anti-racist coalition.
Good luck browbeating the Democratic electorate into supporting some pro-Israel corporate centrist in the 2028 presidential election after this saga.

It's also pretty clear that Stevens' demands were never on the level, and Abdul made the right choice in refusing to play her game -- despite what some pundits on here and cable have been saying.
AIPAC spending millions to back Haley Stevens in 2022 against Andy Levin was indeed a radicalizing moment for a lot of people in Michigan. In an interview with @daveweigel at the time, AIPAC’s president said they targeted Levin precisely because, as a synagogue president, Levin had strong standing to criticize Israel’s actions and defend Tlaib and Omar against attacks.
So Andy Levin had to be crushed.
@AIPAC never saw the hypocrisy in their targeting of someone specifically because they were Jewish. Or if they did, it didn’t stop them.

In the scripted version of the Haley Stevens story her fiancé being legally blind would be cut for being a bit much

donald trump is out here endorsing haley stevens. you happy, @neeratanden ?
.@POTUS: "They're really fighting. Nobody wants Abdul, and Stevens is in there fighting — you gotta give her credit... He is a person that hates black people, hates Jewish people, and I think probably hates all people."

Neera Tanden had SO MUCH to say about Hasan Piker regarding how she perceived him to be “inserting himself as an El-Sayed surrogate,” but when Haley Stevens’ fiancé on mainstream outlets says he’s voting for Rogers (who supports a NATIONAL ABORTION BAN)—and Stevens herself threatens to withhold her support for El-Sayed—Tanden apparently has nothing to say.🤔

It’s not just about election ratfucking. “Will you condemn?” is an effective strategy to keep Israel’s critics on the defensive so that Israel’s supporters never have to answer for what they’re supporting.
