The longer I coach, the more I realize that the secret to being a great coach isn't designing cutting edge training, it's the ability to repeatedly and consistently avoid doing dumb stuff.

Shout out to Coach Dustin Perry and his relationship with Yosef. We have loved how the “What team’s shirt is Yosef wearing?” segment has become part of the Supertraining in a Year podcast.
This week, @Dr_JustinLima and @NutromicSports dive into injury prevention, robustness, barefoot training, exercise selection, and the difference between pain and actual tissue injury.
They discuss how injuries can accumulate over time, why athletes need exposure to variability and imperfect positions, and why good training should inherently help reduce injury risk.
Another shout out to @jbryanmann and his desire to have Russian texts translated, as well as @DCSportTraining and his education on barefoot training with Doc Yessis.

Recovery is EXTREMELY important for athletes, but do coaches program and periodize recovery modalities?
Do you plan for times where athletes WON'T use recovery modalities?
@NutromicSports talks about times Yuri would do this with his athletes in the offseason. He and @Dr_JustinLima also dive into how to use recovery in-season.
They dive into local and global recovery needs. We also touch on Charlie Francis and how he used recovery with Ben.
All of these 15 pages from 436-450 in Supertraining were on the topic of recovery. Click below for a deep dive on this topic:

It’s a pleasure to join Justin of Strength Coach Network to go through the Bible of our field, Supertraining
I’m saddened to share that the great Dr. Anatoliy Bondarchuk passed away yesterday morning. Without a doubt, he is the most successful coach of any sport in history. He was also a great scientist who composed many books and articles. There will never be another like him
