This would make it much easier for companies building fiber, like: @OCG_Fiber @FlumeInternet or @pilotfiber.
Current system requires utility providers to pay expensive Right-of-Way fees to NYS DOT.
This bill, if passed, would eliminate the need for a survey to be submitted.
Whenever you see the manhole services in Manhattan, this may be below it! Lots of cables, and all from different companies. See the picture below for an example of work we did recently in a manhole in the city!

There is an EXTREMELY small subset of people that will ever come close to needing those speeds.
Unless you work in a datacenter serving thousands of users, most will never use more than 500mbps.

Much of Long Island has really been stuck in a monopoly for awhile.
Verizon for many years stopped expanding FIOS about 30% through Suffolk County.
We're really excited about the new Fiber provider @OCG_Fiber that is starting to build out Suffolk!
