Cycle Toronto win. In response to our legal action, the province has backtracked from an alleged December start and confirms no bike lane removal will begin until at least March 2025. "Our goal is that they don't ever get the chance to start at all” Michael Longfield, ED.

Ford’s government can find $2.2B for a luxury spa, but can’t fix Ontario’s crumbling schools. - 40% of schools need repairs. - That’ll hit 75% in 10 years. - The backlog will balloon to $22B. Spas, not schools. That’s The Cost of Doug. teapawt.net/MaritStiles/status/186…
In Brantford today with @HarveyBischof, meeting parents, education workers—and students—about the state of our schools: leaky roofs, lead pipes, sweltering heat, freezing cold. Today’s FAO report says 37% of schools need repairs. If Ford doesn’t get his act together, that’ll skyrocket to 75%, and the repair backlog will balloon to $22B. This is about choices—and Doug Ford’s choices are setting Ontario’s students back a generation.

On September 30th, the systems which uphold colonialism are still in place and the harm continues. Reconciliation in practice has shifted away from transformation or ending harm and towards comforting Canadians. Read the full Brief: yellowheadinstitute.org/2024…
