Olio got asked how their team uses AI. Most of the answer covered what the AI can't touch.
The model drafts a payment request from one line you type. It never sees your keys or your payment history, and it can't pick a recipient or send money.
Invoicing is the chore I'd hand off first. Deciding who gets paid stays with me, and that's where they drew the line too.
Same rule as the payments: private by default, provable when needed. The drafting is a prototype for now, and the payment links run on Stellar testnet.

Last week @makantersera took Olio on stage at @ProtocolCamp Cohort 10 in Seoul, hosted by [@hashed_official ] x [@0xShardLab ].
The brief: show how your team uses AI.
Most of our answer was about what we don't let it touch.

What the model never gets:
- Your wallet keys
- Your private notes
- Your payment history
- The power to pick a recipient or send money
Only the text you type is sent. Prompts aren't stored or logged.
In a privacy product, the AI can't be the leak. Same principle as every Olio payment link.
Private by default. Provable when it counts.
The AI drafting is still a prototype, but private payment links are already live on Stellar testnet.
Try it: oliopay.xyz
Every on-chain payment is public by default. Your balance, who you pay, your full history.

Olio is officially in @ProtocolCamp Cohort 10.
We build private @USDC payments on @StellarOrg. Balances and payment history stay shielded, and any single payment is still provable when a client asks.
Private by default. Provable when it counts.

Why privacy matters more than ever.
Privacy protects human dignity, personal autonomy, and democratic freedom. Here is why it remains a fundamental pillar of a free society:
- The right to be let alone. In 1890, Samuel Warren and Louis Brandeis defined privacy as "the right to be let alone," shielding an individual's "inviolate personality" against intrusive new technologies.
- Informational control. Sociologist Alan Westin defined privacy as a person's claim to determine "when, how, and to what extent" information about them reaches others.
- A gateway right. Privacy makes freedom of thought, expression, and political association possible.
- Stopping the chilling effect. Pervasive surveillance pushes citizens to self-censor and conform out of fear of being watched.
- Technological safeguards. From Phil Zimmermann's PGP in 1991 to the EU's GDPR, protecting privacy takes both cryptographic defense and legal accountability.
Privacy preserves who we are.

YOUR TOKEN IS NOBODY’S BUSINESS
Stellar's position on privacy hasn't changed: configurable, compliance ready by design, opt-in not enforced.
→ Confidential Tokens hide the amount and balance
→ Private Payments breaks the depositor-withdrawer link
@AVotoFuture on the Developer Preview with @Nethermind:
New month, payday is here. Keep the flex quiet and the wallet private.
Repeat after me:

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you start building.
That’s exactly what @makantersera's journey with xlmaxi.
What started as an idea to make Stellar more approachable became a savings dashboard where users can track goals, manage XLM, earn through Blend, and send payments.
Of course, getting there wasn’t always simple. Connecting wallets, working with Horizon, Soroban, Blend, and real-time events came with plenty of challenges. But each problem became part of the learning process.
Now, as a Monthly Builder Winner, she’s a reminder that sometimes you just need to start with an idea, keep learning, and build as you go. 🚀

Our co-founder @makantersera on how Olio got built during the hackathon.
If you’re new here: Olio is private USDC payment links. Your clients pay normally. What you earn stays your business.
Thank you @Indo_Stellar @StellarOrg @riseinweb3
Let’s build 🔥
🥇Meet @makantersera, Co-Founder of @OlioPrivacy | 1st Place in Payments & Consumer Applications at the APAC Stellar Hackathon 2026 🏆
What started at the hackathon was an opportunity to turn an idea into something more tangible.
In the video, she shares her experience building Olio throughout the hackathon from navigating the challenges of working with new tools and infrastructure to validating the product and thinking about how to bring it closer to real users.
Now, the focus is on what comes next: reaching users and turning the idea built during the hackathon into something with real-world potential.
The hackathon may be over, but this is only the beginning. 🚀
