You’ll never forget your first. The tangible memento which reminds you daily that your art is appreciated, that your effort was worth the energy, that this is only the beginning, that it’s always best to march by the beat of your own drum because you don’t know any other way.
Has anyone else noticed the recent trend of videos now giving away the pay-off up front and then playing the entire video after? I get that you’re fishing for views but it’s a terrible new story structure trend which reduces the enjoyment of the payoff and only has the audience mainly involved with the set up. Give me my surprise! It’s worst that that annoying troupe of “I bet you’re wondering how I got here”
The video below would’ve been so much better without this new trend. It had a really good setup.
Some of you need to read the 14th Amendment and stop the damn whining. You’ll find all the answers you need. Due process is constitutional.

you know a song is timeless, when a toddler feels inspired to dance battle and it came out 30 years before he ever existed 😭

Guillermo del Toro gives his thoughts on AI and the value of art:
“AI has demonstrated that it can do semi-compelling screensavers. That’s essentially that. The value of art is not how much it costs and how little effort it requires, it’s how much would you risk to be in its presence.
How much would people pay for those screensavers? Are they gonna make them cry because they lost a son? A mother? Because they misspent their youth? Fuck no.”

Across the Spider-Verse is proof that AI will NEVER be able to make the magic human creatives can. Stories are a human emotional medium intended to communicate meaning to other humans.

If you don’t have a character arc for that story with that girl at work who’s your antagonist, I don’t want to hear it. Either y’all learn to be friends or you punch her in the face. We’ve been stuck on Episode 1 for years now.
