When Sri Lanka’s crisis hit in 2022 and fuel, food, and medicine ran short, economist @Im_Anushan saw how poor financial management and lack of transparency can devastate lives — and decided to help change it. Working with @VeriteResearch through our @EU_Commission supported initiative - Collaborating for Open and Accountable Budgeting (COAB), he trained community groups to read budgets, track spending, and use the Right to Information law to demand accountability. The results: new budget lines for mental health, a new Public Financial Management Act, and renewed hope for reform. 🎥 Watch the incredible story
