You open a bank account when interests rates are at 5%. Later on interest rates reduce to 3.5%. Do you sue the bank of England for changing the rates? No, because it is just potential earnings. You aren't losing any money. The money you invested is still there
The Pensioners for Ground Rent are back, saying they will sue the government for “breaching their human rights under the European Convention” over the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Bill

Why? This is none sense. The rest of the world has better system than in the UK. Clearly leasehold is not needed. Clearly @AngelaRayner has a better understanding of leasehold than @marydejevsky
#PMQs @AngelaRayner clearly has no understanding of #leasehold. Of course, new houses should not be sold leasehold, but flats have to have a way of sharing common costs. No lawyer would advise buying freehold flat. Ppl need to understand this.

'My service charge is now £16K a year' This is what politicians are calling "affordable housing". Not that they care if it is actually affordable, they just use this buzz word to get elected @Conservatives @UKLabour You should do better to get elected bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c884…

My service charges have more than double in 13 years, for no additional service. And it seems I am a "lucky" one seeing some of these horror stories bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ce7x…

Service charges increase conveniently once all flats are sold. Just the government doesn't see a problem with it. @Conservatives @luhc time to regulate
Having worked for a developer in the role of setting service charges I was constantly stopped from publishing accurate service charges on New builds because it would impact sales! I had to quit in the end my morals meant more .

"Affordable housing" is a buzz word used by politiciians to get elected. They consider that 80% of full market price is affordable. Which's hypocrisy. To make it affordable the entire price should be affordable alongside the service charges. Shared ownership's destroying lives
They are complicit, but there is shared responsibility across political parties. Language matters and calling this 'genuinely affordable housing' is totally unacceptable. Glad to see some boroughs beginning to rule out SO but thousands of people are trapped and can't get out.

"Make the market MORE perfect". Is it perfect though? As a leasehold, I can guarantee, it is far from perfect. It is actually lower than expections and worse than in many countries. Seating here and waiting until the @Conservatives finally decide to do any meaningful changes...
Giving people more freedom, choice & power is at the heart of being a conservative And that's exactly why we are reforming leasehold and freehold estates - stopping monopolies, reforming bad practice and removing rent-seeking The conservative case for reform is overwhelming:

Is the vision of the @ThePLSA to "raise standards" in the pension industry. Minimum standard would be to ethical investments. Is freeholder ground rent ethical? By selling themselves to the RFA, @ThePLSA has made the choice to be unethical and no longer credible. Well done
🚨🩴GROUND RENT GRAZERS U-TURN LATEST🩴🚨 🩴Here is the latest correspondence between #FreeLeaseholders and the flip-flopping @ThePLSA 🩴 They must correct the record and come clean. (1/2)

Funnily enough, some leasehold properties owned pensioners can be forfeited over a £350 bill. How can a freeholder becomes insolvent because of ground rent not paid? It is a payment for nothing. If freeholders aren't happy about that, they can just sell
📉 Making freeholders insolvent by removing ground rent might sound like an attractive proposition to some, but few have considered the knock-on effects…

The @Conservatives refuse to abolish leasehold. Flats that are already built & perfectly fine but unsellable because of abusive leases, could be put on the market. Would that not help with the shortage of housing? Instead @michaelgove wants to make rogue developers richer
"Michael Gove is expected to announce that a law allowing commercial buildings to be turned into homes without planning permission will extend to shops and offices of any size." What could possibly go wrong? #BuildingSafetyCrisis bbc.com/news/uk-68266325
