Beginning tomorrow, newly designed Florida driver licenses and identification cards will begin rolling out at service centers across the state!
The new credential remains one of the most secure over the counter identification options available today and proudly pays homage to Florida’s history with design features, including:
-An image of Castillo de San Marcos, the oldest masonry fortress in the continental United States, located in St. Augustine;
-The Florida orange is cleverly integrated as the “o” in “Florida”;
-On the back, a tribute to Florida’s Space Coast showing the Discovery Space Shuttle; and
-A Florida alligator incorporated into the REAL ID star in the top right corner of call cards.
Florida residents are not required to replace their existing driver license or identification card. All valid credentials will remain in circulation and be phased out over time.
Visit flhsmv.gov/newDL to find out more information about our next driver license!

❓ DYK? Evacuating doesn’t have to mean leaving Florida!
In most cases, you only need to evacuate tens of miles to get out of harm’s way — not hundreds.
Before disaster strikes, make an evacuation plan:

⛽ Don’t let a fuel stop slow you down!
When a storm threatens Florida & evacuation orders are issued, gas stations can get busy fast, leading to longer lines & potential fuel shortages.
🚗 Keep your vehicle at least halfway full or charged so you’re ready to go when it’s time to get to safety.
Remember: If you’re halfway full, you’re halfway there! 📍
