As we mark the 70th anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight, we remember the courage of those who stood up for freedom and democracy.
Yesterday, I was honoured to meet with some of Canada’s Hungarian heroes of 1956 and express my gratitude for their bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to freedom.
Their courage remains an inspiration to us all and a powerful reminder that freedom is never to be taken for granted.
