Earning yield on RLUSD and XRP, tokenizing real world assets and settling on XRPL will become the norm.

Transactions don't have to follow a single global order. They execute in parallel, and SDF says capacity grows as you add machines.

Bitcoin was four years old. Crypto was still a fringe idea and the banks were not listening yet.

What I find most significant about this announcement is that Coinbase has enabled RLUSD support not only on its own Base network but also on the XRP Ledger (XRPL).
This aligns with Coinbase’s broader strategy of expanding institutional trading, custody, and asset transfer services across multiple blockchain networks rather than limiting them to its own ecosystem.
Furthermore, given that Coinbase Prime is already listed as an ODL-supported exchange in Ripple’s technical documentation, there is a clear economic rationale for Coinbase to expand its financial services on XRPL.
However, it remains uncertain whether Coinbase intends to adopt XRPL as a broader institutional settlement and collateral management infrastructure.
Going forward, I will be particularly interested in whether Coinbase Prime becomes involved in XRPL’s Permissioned DEX and how deeply it integrates with RLUSD settlement flows through Ripple Payments.
