An upcoming (double) volume in our @PPresences series. These two volumes deal with the vast and extraordinary collections from the Pacific, collected from the late eighteenth century onwards. Vol1: bit.ly/2FsGrcw Vol2: bit.ly/2vWYDLH
Don’t know, however, if we do justice to the different agencies involved by categorically declaring all collections as ‘stolen’. There are many ways collecting was done. Ranging from atrocious plundering to conscious gifting and/or trading or even collaborative making/research.
