This all sounds great until you realize UCLA beat the same Wisconsin team PSU blew a 17 point lead to with, checks notes, ahhh yes a backup QB.
It’s time to address this all. 🦁

You can find the same receipts for every account that has a ridiculous Penn State/Franklin tweet like this
Penn State is completely adrift at 3-4 with no P4 wins. You wonder if they take a look at an up and comer like the new VT coach who inherited a 3-9 team and has them bowl eligible at 6-2 (and should probably be 8-0).

Not the nice way to say it, but he’s right. Don’t move the goal posts. Don’t excuse these performances. Don’t lower your expectations.
Here’s an updated list of the new, first full-year P4 head coaches and the amount of P4 wins + ranked wins they have. There are only two HCs on the list who have 0 P4 and ranked wins: Penn State: Matt Campbell P4 wins: 0 Ranked wins: 0 (out of 1 chance) & Michigan State: Pat Fitzgerald P4 wins: 0 Ranked wins: 0 (out of 3) —— Here’s everyone else: VA Tech: James Franklin P4 wins: 4 Ranked wins: 0 (out of 0) - Oklahoma St: Eric Morris P4 wins: 4 Ranked wins: 1 (out of 2) - Stanford: Tavita Pritchard P4 wins: 2 Ranked wins: 0 (out of 2) - Auburn: Alex Golesh P4 wins: 3 Ranked wins: 1 (out of 3) - Arkansas: Ryan Silverfield P4 wins: 1 Ranked wins: 0 (out of 3) - Florida: Jon Sumrall P4 wins: 3 Ranked wins: 2 (out of 3) - LSU: Lane Kiffin P4 wins: 4 Ranked wins: 2 (out of 3) - Kentucky: Will Stein P4 wins: 5 Ranked wins: 2 (out of 3) - Kansas State: Collin Klein P4 wins: 1 Ranked wins: 0 (out of 1) - Cal: Tosh Lupoi P4 wins: 2 Ranked wins: 0 (out of 2) - Iowa State: Jimmy Rogers P4 wins: 1 Ranked wins: 0 (out of 4) - UCLA: Bob Chesney P4 wins: 6 Ranked wins: 1 (out of 1) - Michigan: Kyle Whittingham P4 wins: 2 Ranked wins: 1 (out of 3) - Ole Miss: Pete Golding P4 wins: 4 Ranked wins: 3 (out of 5) - Utah: Morgan Scalley P4 wins: 5 Ranked wins: 1 (out of 1) —— @gorski_lion and other delulus want you to be quiet and instead want to talk rainbows and sunshine about something that is inexcusable! You’re not going to get smoke-blowing on this page. You’re going to get the truth. Here’s the truth: these are unacceptable times.

We need to halt all stadium atmospherics until we can figure out what the hell is going on. Every stadium in America now sounds EXACTLY the same - Zombie Nation, 7 Nation Army, Mo Bamba. Crazy Train laugh. Aretha, McCartney, Tell Me Something Good on reviews. We need a reset.

I love Penn State football. I love the tradition… However it’s 2026. We can’t keep living in 1982 thinking we’ll be successful. There’s a way to honor the past and tradition without making it our whole identity. Things gotta change 🤔
Yep. People think my persistent glass half empty talk on here is some act, no. I know I speak for a decent proportion of fans (unfortunately not all) who are sick of @GoPSUsports' steadfast refusal to get serious in elevating the program where it should be. They’ve had years to do so and they consistently give fans the middle finger (🧵)

@GoPSUsports then had all the time in the world to hire a good and serious coach for once, and instead of doing so and shutting the haters and revisionist historians up by finally taking the opportunity to maximize PSU’s resources (like Indiana of all places has for football btw and PSU has more checked boxes than them!), PSU gave us the middle finger yet again by nationally embarrassing us w/ Kraft inexplicably going rogue and chasing and then fumbling a coach who’s coached in Utah all but 1 yr the last ~25 yrs, and, because of the fumble, hiring the exact opposite person this program needed. It's an unfathomable situation that is objectively impressive because of how it was almost impossible to pull off. PSU somehow always pulls off the impossible though, and not the good kind. Penn State was warned not to screw it up. They did.

@GoPSUsports / @PennStateFball needs a killer-instinct, more with more culture, not a boring, old-school, counter-productive “more with less” one where we're gonna be loyal to the wrong guys, and be a charity to the opposition because of the stubborn refusal to make simple adjustments, and getting superior talent for the sake of "doing things the right way" and "success with honor." While programs like Ohio State, and now Indiana, among others, continue to play killer-instinct football, Penn State wants to stay boring and play 1985 “moneyball.” In light of all of this, it is perfectly ok to be infuriated at this (inexcusable) juncture. As PSU fans, we've always shown up. It's time for them to show up, wake up, and return the favor for once.

Penn State is unique in that we give opposing team’s experiences that we can only dream of. Bring in a backup QB and suddenly click. Go into a hostile environment when you’re bad on the road and win. Dominate from start to finish when you’re the underdog. Every fucking week.

This guy has established zero proof of concept with the fan base and continuing to show zero sense of urgency is only going to lead to us conclude that this is good enough to him and he does not give a fuck.

To rub salt in the wound, Bob Chesney’s third-string QB at UCLA, who was at an FCS school a year ago, has double the passing yards against Wisconsin that Rocco Becht did three weeks ago. The fourth quarter just started.

I’ve said it before, but having conference-specific refs is a huge conflict of interest in this era of college football. The ACC knows who is buttering their playoff bread this year.

If you weren’t on the Chesney bandwagon 11 months ago… sorry no hopping on now that he’s 5-0 to use it against Kraft. Most of you drooled over Campbell hire
Dear @CoachBobChesney, We are sorry our goofy AD didn’t make the obvious offer to keep you home at first. But give us a 2nd chance and instantly become a PA legend. P.S. There’s no Yuengling, Sheetz or Knoebels in Cali.

Last thing, I like Matt Campbell but he has got to stop with this bs about how the players are great humans and do the right thing etc etc. I don’t plan every Saturday in the fall around watching Penn State trot out a bunch of Johnny do goods out there to get their shit pushed in. I want to watch some bad mfers that are really great at playing football and win MY team games. I don’t mean this in a negative or selfish way but I don’t know these players personally, I hope they do well in life but holy shit I just want them to be good at playing football and winning football games. So please stop with this rhetoric about how they’re “great humans” or go coach a high school team or a mediation school team for bad kids that need their lives turned around or something. If your main goal isn’t winning games just leave now.

Replying to @PSUStats
Agree 100%. Bama and OSU focused on NIL and corp sponsorships and we’re focused on a replica office from the 70s. Honoring the past and letting it dictate seemingly every decision is absurd

You don’t get to claim a win streak when you forfeit a game
Notre Dame has won 14 straight games, its 3rd-longest win streak since the program’s last national championship in 1988 ☘️ Luck of the Irish? Not quite... All 14 wins have come by double digits, the longest active streak in the FBS and the longest in program history 😤

I respect our legends more than almost anybody. I give them grace. I can excuse almost any perceived misstep if delivered by someone who has earned the benefit of the doubt. Steve Jones is one such legend, forever. Nonetheless: This is fucking pathetic. youtube.com/live/r40jCyFg4uw…

They made the right decision to move on from Franklin. Their hiring process was just bad and they picked the wrong guy. Both can be true.
Just feels like Penn State made the wrong decision to get rid of James Franklin. This doesn’t feel like storied Penn State football.
