🏈 A DAWG WORTH RECOGNIZING — ALEXANDER WINKLES 🏈 🔥 223 RUSHING YARDS. 64 RECEIVING YARDS. 4 TOUCHDOWNS. Alexander Winkles delivered one of the most dominant single-game performances you’ll see from a Ponte Vedra running back, averaging an incredible 8 yards per carry! Alex is not only one of the most durable high school running backs I’ve had the pleasure of watching, but also one of the most disciplined. His commitment to preparing himself physically and mentally throughout the offseason is a testament to his character and work ethic. As a runner, Alex combines power with a special ability to find a crease, explode through the hole, and accelerate past defenders. Few backs at this level do it as well. But what makes Alex special goes beyond the numbers. Despite his physical dominance, he remains humble, leads through his work ethic, and makes the players around him better. That’s what a DAWG looks like. Talent may get attention, but discipline, commitment, and drive separate the good from the great. Alex is the kind of player every coach wants on his TEAM. We’re proud to have him representing Ponte Vedra Football! EARN EVERYTHING. #PVSharks #DAWG #DisciplineCommitmentDrive #WEGreaterThanME

PRACTICE PLAYERS/DAWGs OF THE WEEK & GAME CAPTAINS This morning, we recognized our JV Practice Players/DAWGs of the Week and Game Captains: 🏈 OFFENSE: Junior QB Sinjin Ciaffa 🏈 DEFENSE: Sophomore DB Brandon Quinn Both players will also serve as two of our four Game Captains for Thursday night’s JV game against Creekside. Our Practice Players/DAWGs of the Week earn this recognition by consistently demonstrating the DAWG Standard: Conduct, Commitment, and Drive (CCD)—in practice and throughout the season. In addition, Coach Price announced our four varsity Game Captains for Friday night’s showdown against our biggest district rival, the Nease Panthers. Congratulations to seniors Alexander Winkles, Trey Butts, Carter Ottesen, and Noah Ash! Recognizing our Game Captains early in the week gives these young men the opportunity to lead during preparation and reinforce the TEAM’s standards: focus on the process, bring your best every rep and every play, and compete with discipline, grit, and humility. Their leadership helps set the tone and model accountability throughout the week—in practice, meetings, the weight room, and the classroom—as we prepare the TEAM for Friday Night’s Battle. Congratulations to all six of our recognized players for representing what it means to be a DAWG, not just on the field, but in the classroom and throughout our community. DAWG is the standard.

🏈 SCOUT TEAM PLAYERS OF THE WEEK 🏈 This morning, we recognized our Scout TEAM Players of the Week for their outstanding effort and commitment last week: 🏈 DEFENSE: Freshman DL Elvis Amankwah 🏈 OFFENSE: Junior QB Sinjin Ciaffa Congratulations, Elvis and Sinjin! Elvis is the first freshman to earn Scout TEAM Player of the Week honors. He has already demonstrated the work ethic, discipline, and character of a DAWG. If he continues to stay focused, coachable, and committed to improving, he has a bright future as a PV Shark. Sinjin is the first player to earn both Scout TEAM Player of the Week and DAWG/Practice Player of the Week honors in the same week. He is respected for his consistent approach to everything he does on the practice field, in the weight room, and in the classroom. His commitment and willingness to embrace his role exemplify what it means to put the TEAM first. WHY SCOUT TEAM MATTERS The Scout TEAM plays an unheralded but critical role in our weekly preparation. By replicating our opponents’ plays, formations, tendencies, and style of play, they help prepare our offense and defense for Friday night. They may not receive the spotlight on game night, but their preparation, effort, and commitment directly contribute to our TEAM’s success. We recognize our Scout TEAM Players of the Week to celebrate the discipline, selflessness, and dedication it takes to make your teammates better. This honor is about more than one week, it’s about setting a standard, embracing your role, and earning your teammates’ trust every practice, every rep, and every day. As part of their recognition, Elvis and Sinjin each received an “Iron Sharpens Iron” T-shirt—a reminder that when we challenge one another, prepare with purpose, and give our best, we sharpen ourselves, our teammates, and our entire TEAM. Thank you, Elvis and Sinjin, for taking pride in the little things and demonstrating that every role matters and every rep counts. Never underestimate the impact you can make behind the scenes. When you put the TEAM first, your contributions reach far beyond your individual role. Keep earning the standard. Keep sharpening your teammates. Keep making our TEAM better. **WE > ME! **

TALENT MAY OPEN THE DOOR. CHARACTER KEEPS YOU IN THE ROOM. 🏈 The recent removal of a highly recruited freshman football player from his TEAM for conduct deemed detrimental to the TEAM’s standards is a powerful reminder: No amount of talent makes anyone bigger than the TEAM or its standards. Talent may create opportunities, but character, accountability, and respect determine how we handle them. COACHES, OUR JOB IS BIGGER THAN FOOTBALL. We are not simply developing football players; we are helping develop young men. Football is something you do, not who you are. One day, the uniform comes off, the games end, and the question becomes: WHO AM I, AND WHO HAVE I BECOME? Will you be someone others can trust, respect, and depend on? Character doesn’t develop automatically. It must be taught, modeled, reinforced, and practiced daily. Our players need coaches and mentors who care about the people they are becoming, not just the players they are today. The **Three DAWG Pillars of Success—Conduct, Commitment, and Drive—**provide a roadmap for success both on and off the field and throughout life. CONDUCT: Carry yourself with respect and accountability. COMMITMENT: Be prepared, be coachable, and do the extra. DRIVE: Demonstrate passion, discipline, and a relentless work ethic. Players, never become so impressed with your talent that you forget your responsibility to the TEAM. Coaches, never become so focused on winning that you lose sight of why we coach. Football is our classroom. Developing young men is our responsibility. Preparing them for life is our legacy. DAWG is more than a name. It is a standard. Conduct. Commitment. Drive. Earn the standard. Earn the right to be called a DAWG. Who we become matters more than what we accomplish.

🏈 OFFENSIVE, DEFENSIVE & SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYERS OF THE WEEK 🏈 Congratulations to our Ponte Vedra Sharks Players of the Week for their outstanding efforts against a talented Mandarin TEAM. Competing in heavy rain and challenging wind conditions required toughness, focus, and discipline. These three players stepped up in their respective roles and represented our TEAM the right way. 🏈 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK — Junior OL (Center) Brayden Holmes Brayden delivered a solid performance at center, consistently providing clean, reliable snaps to the quarterback throughout the game despite the difficult weather conditions. Playing center requires concentration, consistency, and attention to detail on every snap. Brayden’s ability to execute his responsibilities under challenging conditions helped our offense operate and reflects the importance of doing your job, one play at a time. 💪 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK — Junior DB Eamon Rocha Eamon made several key tackles, including plays that required him to pursue ball carriers across the field. Week after week, he continues to improve by playing smarter, faster, and more physical. His energy, effort, and grit were evident throughout the game and helped set the tone for his teammates. Eamon’s willingness to pursue the football and finish plays demonstrates the relentless effort and TEAM-first mentality we expect from every Shark. ⚡ SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK — Senior Kicker Noah Ash Noah had several excellent punts, but the highlight of his performance was a 50-yard field goal in the heavy rain and wind! That kind of performance requires more than ability. It takes preparation, confidence, concentration, and the composure to execute when conditions are far from ideal. Noah stepped up when called upon and delivered a tremendous kick for our TEAM. Please join me in congratulating Brayden, Eamon, and Noah on their well-earned recognition. Each made an important contribution in a different phase of the game, reminding us that TEAM success depends on individuals consistently doing their jobs and embracing their responsibilities. More importantly, we want to recognize the way they continue to represent the Three DAWG Pillars of Success: Conduct, Commitment, and Drive; both on and off the field. THREE PLAYERS. THREE ROLES. ONE TEAM. THREE DAWGs. Earn the standard. Earn the right to be called a DAWG.

🏈 SCOUT TEAM PLAYERS OF THE WEEK 🏈 This morning, Coach Price recognized our Scout TEAM Players of the Week from last week: 🏈 Defense: Sophomore DL Andrew Delgado 🏈 Offense: Sophomore RB Nate Bestic The Scout TEAM plays an unheralded but incredibly important role in our preparation each week. Their job is to replicate our opponents’ plays, formations, tendencies, and style of play, giving our offense and defense the best possible preparation for Friday night. They may not receive the Friday night spotlight, but their preparation, effort, and commitment throughout the week directly contribute to our TEAM’s success on game night. That’s why we recognize our Scout TEAM Players of the Week: to celebrate the discipline, selflessness, and dedication it takes to make your teammates better. But this recognition is about more than what you accomplish in a single week. It’s about setting a standard. Earning this honor means consistently bringing your best, embracing your role, and understanding that your commitment matters—not just to your own development, but to every teammate who depends on you. The expectation is to continue earning that trust every practice, every rep, and every day. As part of their recognition, Andrew and Nate each received an “Iron Sharpens Iron” T-shirt—a reminder that when we challenge one another, prepare with purpose, and give our best, we sharpen not only ourselves but also our teammates and our entire TEAM. Congratulations, Andrew and Nate! You both have a bright future ahead of you as Shark DAWGs. Thank you for embracing your roles, taking pride in the little things, and understanding that every role matters and every rep counts. Never underestimate the impact you can have when you put the TEAM first. Your work behind the scenes helps prepare all of us for the challenges ahead. Keep earning the standard. Keep sharpening your teammates. Keep making our TEAM better. WE > ME!

🏈 PRACTICE PLAYERS/DAWGs OF THE WEEK & GAME CAPTAINS 🏈 This morning, we recognized our two Practice Players/DAWGs of the Week in front of the TEAM. Senior wide receiver Trey Smith represents the offense, and junior defensive lineman Reece Kenning represents the defense. Both will also serve as two of our four Game Captains for Friday night’s district game against Fletcher. Joining Trey and Reece as Game Captains are senior defensive back Trey Butts and senior running back Alexander Winkles, both of whom have been recognized as DAWG recipients this year and last year. Trey Smith and Reece Kenning earned the distinction of Practice Players/DAWGs of the Week through their consistent demonstration of our DAWG Standard: Conduct, Commitment, and Drive (CCD)—both during last week’s practices and throughout the season. Announcing our Game Captains at the beginning of the week gives these young men an opportunity to lead during preparation, set the tone, model accountability on and off the field, and help prepare the TEAM for Friday night. Congratulations to all four young men for representing what it means to be a DAWG—not just on the field, but also in the classroom and throughout our community. DAWG is the standard.

🏈 PRACTICE PLAYERS/DAWGs OF THE WEEK & GAME CAPTAINS 🏈 This morning, we recognized our two Practice Players/DAWGs of the Week in front of the TEAM. Junior wide receiver Trent Player represents the offense, and senior defensive back Trey Butts represents the defense. Both are repeat DAWGs of the Week this season and will serve as two of our four Game Captains for Friday night’s District game against Mandarin. We also reviewed the importance of embracing CCD—Conduct, Commitment and Drive. Conduct comes first because it is the foundation of our character. Poor attitude, body language or punctuality diminish the value of our Commitment and Drive, whether on the field, in the classroom or in the community. I challenged our seniors to revisit the Legacy Statements they wrote during summer camp and consider whether they are living up to the legacy they committed to leave. I also reminded our freshmen, sophomores and juniors that legacy-building begins as a freshman and not a senior. Joining Trent and Trey as Game Captains are senior defensive lineman Caden Kartzmark and senior running back Alexander Winkles. Trent and Trey earned the additional distinction of Practice Players/DAWGs of the Week because they have consistently demonstrated our DAWG Standard of CCD throughout the season, dating back to January and offseason strength training. Announcing captains at the beginning of the week gives them the opportunity to lead during preparation, set the tone, model accountability and help prepare the TEAM for Friday night. Congratulations to all four young men for representing what it means to be a DAWG on the field, in the classroom and throughout our community. DAWG is the standard.
