Because Catholics rely on more than the Bible. They do rely on sacred tradition but Protestants rely on themselves.
How Protestants read Scripture:
Scripture: โMary was blessed among women.โ (Luke 1:42)
Protestants: โAmen. Mary was blessed among women.โ
How Roman Catholics read Scripture:
Scripture: โMary was blessed among women.โ
Catholics: โTherefore, she remained perpetually a virgin, was conceived without original sin, was bodily assumed into heaven, is Queen of Heaven, and should be invoked in prayer.โ
The catholic blasphemy is astounding.

Ah Protestants and their deceptive ways.
Hippo and Carthage listed the same 73 books we use today.
Florence again listed the same books in Cantate Domino.
Same for Trentโsolemnly reaffirming the list already found at Florence, Hippo, and Carthage, and adding an anathema because the canon was now under direct attack by Protestants.
Why the need to confirm the canon again and again? Because heretics come along and attack it, like Luther against James, Hebrews, Jude, and Revelation.
So the councils are like the school bus driver tapping the sign. These are the canon. Itโs not up for debate. Weโre going to say it again because people throughout the ages keep trying to chip away at the Bible.

He is clearly lying and doesn't care. He even had to change Revelation 13:4 to attack Catholicism. And we all know what Revelation 22:18โ19 says about adding to and subtracting Revelation.
