Tim Connelly with an update on Anthony Edwards injury status
“He’s going to go through and arthroscopic procedure in the next 24 hours. We’re constantly updating his imaging, his imaging from yesterday, showed an issue that we want to get addressed quickly. Our only concern is his long-term health.”
On what the injury is specifically
“It’s not a meniscus, I don’t want to speak out of school, my liberal arts degree will screw me up. It’s just an arthroscopic clean up”
On if this could have been addressed over the summer
“No, the imaging has changed on the most recent imaging. We’ve had a bunch of imaging over the summer and it changed as of yesterday”

Kobe Bryant says he would hire a car service to get to road games before the team’s first bus so he could be inside the arena before the crowd arrived and prepare in complete silence, and says he would prepare meticulously for whatever looks the opposing defense was going to give him
“If we had a road game, say Miami, a 7:30pm game, I’d still get up early and do weights. I’d have breakfast, get on the bus, go to shootaround, get my shots up, come back to the room, do treatment, ice, stretch. I might watch a movie, I might watch a little extra film.”
“Then for the bus to the stadium, we had two buses. The first bus was generally around 4:45pm and the second bus was around 5:30pm. I was generally on the early one, just to get treatment and get shots up, because I liked getting to the arenas early.”
“Sometimes I would actually get a car and leave before the first bus because even though the first bus was leaving early, there were still people coming into the stands. I liked getting to arenas when there was nobody in there and you could kind of feel the purity of the place, especially in a road environment.”
“As far as how many shots I was trying to get up, it depended on how I was feeling physically and who we were playing. If I was playing the Spurs, I’d work on short-corner shots, mid-elbow shots, those types of shots because those were the shots their defense would give up. If I was playing Memphis and Tony Allen, I’d work on a lot of back-to-the-basket stuff, putting my body on Tony, making sure my footwork was right, making sure I was hiding the ball so he couldn’t swipe it. I’d go through those muscle-memory things. The positions of the shots would vary depending on the opponent.”

I know a lot of people in the West are baffled by the Mbappé-Mao storm in China - which in itself shows that Mbappé's ignorance doesn't come out of nowhere...
To understand it, here's the best analogy I could think of: imagine the biggest Chinese star in the NBA, with sponsorship deals all over the US. One day he's asked for his favorite meme of himself. He giggles: "the one where they put my face on some guy, I think he was an American slave owner." When the "some guy" in question is George Washington.
Whatever you think of the label, you know exactly how that would land in the US: an ungrateful foreigner getting rich off Americans, laughing at the country's founding father in an offensive way - at least to a big share of the population - without even knowing his name.
A founding father is the story a nation tells itself about where it comes from. Laugh at him as a foreigner while cashing in on that nation's consumers, and that's not going to go well in any country.
The label is also extremely un-nuanced: yes, all important historical figures have their share of darkness and Washington and Mao are no exception.
China actually recognizes this: the official line is that he was "70% right and 30% wrong," and the Party's 1981 resolution condemned how his "personal arbitrariness gradually undermined democratic centralism in Party life and the personality cult grew graver and graver" (marxists.org/subject/china/d…)
Same for Washington: it's officially acknowledged too. Or at least it was until this year: in January, the National Park Service tore down an exhibit in Philadelphia about the people Washington enslaved there, under a Trump executive order targeting content that "inappropriately disparage[s]" Americans (associationforpublicart.org/…). Which goes to show China isn't uniquely touchy about its founding father...
🚨 JUST IN: Chinese beverage company DongPeng has ended their sponsorship with Kylian Mbappé after he referred to former Chinese Premier Mao Zedong as a “dictator”.
The company stated that they have “zero tolerance” for statements that hurt national sentiment. @marca

Alex Pretti's father: Our son was shot and killed by the government, federal immigration agents, on January 24th, 2026. We learned about his death from the media as we saw him being shot repeatedly in the back after helping a woman from his community. This was not a protest that Alex was at. His hands were in the air, and his face was on the ground when he was executed by ICE agents. We know exactly what our eyes saw. No one from the federal government called us on that day. But they did go on TV to tell lies about Alex. No one has called us since. No one has recanted those lies.

You are lying, just like the many others who keep repeating the same falsehood you are now spreading. This dispute had NOTHING to do with filming.
The Winter Park Police Department has released the bodycam footage. In it, the man who called the police tells the officers that the Black boy is very advanced and scores a lot of goals against the five-year-old white boys, as we all saw in the viral video.
He goes further. He says he took this three-year-old Black kid off the pitch because he is so good, and the parents objected because they had paid money for their kid to play football. He says the white parents were arguing with the boy’s parents.
He even lied to the police, claiming the boy was pushing other children. We all saw the videos. He never pushed anyone. He simply used his brilliant skills to dribble past them.
That is what started this, in the coach’s own words, on camera. So why are you lying?
Replying to @Shadaya_Knight
Actually the report was for the parents. They were told to stop recording because other parents don't feel comfortable their kids being on social media. But they refused so they call the police on them, then they made it seem like they called them for the child because that will trend. Now they were getting kicked out so they had to take the boy off pitch because they can't leave and leave the boy behind.

A 3 year old named Nevada was kicked out of his i9 Sports soccer league in Winter Park, Florida, and police escorted his family off the field. His parents say the opposing team's parents complained that none of their 5 year olds could take the ball from him and accused him of "trying to put on a show." "They really called the police on a 3 year old because he had the ball too much," his dad said. The family says they got a refund, and neither the league nor police have commented.

🇺🇸 Pete Hegseth just got absolutely humiliated by Senator Tammy Duckworth!
Senator Tammy Duckworth, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel who lost both legs while serving in Iraq, challenged Hegseth:
"I'm glad you brought that up. Can you name a single country that belongs to ASEAN and explain what agreement we have with it? And, by the way, how many countries are in ASEAN? Frankly, I'm not sure you even know who our allies are."
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth:
"Well, I can't give you the exact number, but I certainly know our allies in South Korea, Japan, and Australia..."
Senator Duckworth:
"None of the countries you just mentioned are members of ASEAN. I suggest you do your homework before engaging in these discussions."
And this is the kind of clueless bullshit running the Pentagon. Absolutely unbelievable.
