Are all fans as fickle as some #boro fans? I’ve read comments about us being a one man team, no chance of promotion etc. Scores stay the same and we’re 3 points clear of 2nd place, playing some fantastic football and a manager who loves the club.

Joseph getting the usual scapegoat pelters. He’s been given nothing except awful long balls from defence. #boro

Suicide and men. New suicide figures have been published by @ONS: 5,738 suicides were registered for England in 2025. 75% were in men. 1 in 65 men die by suicide. Sometimes when I'm invited to talk about mental health, I ask a question at the end. "How many of you (mixed crowd) struggle with mental health issues?". Maybe one or two in a room of a couple of hundred. Then when everyone leaves, often 10-20 guys will come over and say "I do". Men still have a problem opening up about their mental health, all ages, because the message society still sends is, "it's weakness". October, for some reason is the worst month of the year for me. I go from running 20kph and flying through summer ( well, better than October) to what I can only describe is a descent into every mental health stereotype. Anxiety Fear No energy ( chronic) Hypersomnia ( 28 hours isn't uncommon) Insomnia Suicidal ideation And then the voice pops up. "You could end this here and now ". It's really difficult to explain to anyone who's never had suicidal ideation what it exactly is. Because I run and keep fit I "know" my fitness will pull me through, but many are stuck in a cycle. Maybe use food or alcohol to look for a dopamine hit ( serious mental health issues literally take away your ability to feel anything, an omnipresent numbness), maybe drugs, maybe exercise, maybe work, many even cut themselves to try to feel something. In that context, saying" I'll end it here and now " becomes a relief. It's certainly no cry for help because you've mostly already tried everything and still the black dog comes. Right now I'm at the gym, forced myself to push through but I know a 28 hour sleep may be incoming and that "why don't you..." voice starts to get louder. I've put this out there over 20 years on here so thus isn't for any purpose other than to show that someone who's in the top 1% of health and fitness is as prone to this quite frightening drop off, seemingly from nowhere, so if this is you, you have that voice, then know it's an illness that strikes many, and unfortunately takes a few along the way. I'm lucky, many took the literal leap because the fear is all consuming. There us help, lots of charities I here @MindBodySoleUK @MindCharity @CharitySANE are but a few. But those stats at the top are sobering, and are holding steady. If someone you know is struggling or you think they are, please reach out to them. If you are struggling, please reach out to friends and family.

It's really weird seeing these graphics and not having my ugly mug on them! Haha Best of luck to you, Dan. Know you'll steer the ship well!
Working on post-production of my debut episode on @LOSeahawks Taking a while because it's a whole new set of muscle memory that will take me a bit of time to get dialed in. But it's rather surreal seeing myself in this box, surrounded by these graphics for a show and a network I've long admired. Audio version of Ep 1 should hit sometime tonight with the LIVE YouTube Premiere set for the morning. Stay tuned here for the official time and link.

#boro Sadly my younger brother suddenly died in Australia 2 weeks ago, aged just 46. I was wondering whether it’s possible to have a minutes applause at the WBA game as he was a massive Boro supporter. Anyone know who would do this? @GraemeBandeira @SimonPobble @middlesbroughfc

So positive to see the support given to the pod (and rightly so). Amazing to think that in 2026 there’s still knuckle suckers who feel it’s appropriate to comment like this.
Incredibly disappointed to say we’ve had to report & delete a significant amount of misogynistic & sexually inappropriate comments from our recent podcast episode. As a group, we’ve decided we will stop recording the show if this continues any further. - Team BB

I went outside today with ONE objective. Get the mail. That’s it. A normal adult activity that should take approximately 45 seconds. Unfortunately, I saw a crow. And the crow saw me. Now, I don’t know what came over me, but I nodded at him. He nodded back. So obviously we’re colleagues now. I said, “What’s up, fucker?” He screamed. I screamed back. This was apparently the password. Because ANOTHER crow showed up. Then another. Within two minutes I had accidentally assembled a small airborne council in my driveway. My neighbor walked outside and asked what I was doing. I said, “Diplomacy.” She went back inside. Smart woman. Anyway, I decided my new associates deserved snacks, so I went inside and came back with peanuts. This is where negotiations deteriorated. One crow took a peanut. One crow stole THREE. And Gerald— I named the biggest one Gerald— Gerald ignored the peanuts entirely and stole a fucking spoon off my porch. Why was there a spoon on my porch? Irrelevant. Gerald has it now. That’s between him and God. I tried following him because THAT WAS A GOOD SPOON. This resulted in me barefoot, halfway across the yard, yelling, “GERALD YOU THIEVING SKY BASTARD, WE HAD AN AGREEMENT.” That’s when I noticed a little kid across the street staring at me. I stared back. He stared at the crows. Then back at me. I whispered, “They’ve chosen me.” His mother immediately called him inside. Anyway. I never got the mail. Gerald has my spoon. There are now seven crows sitting on the power line outside my house. And one of them just dropped a bottle cap on my driveway. So either I’ve been accepted into their society… or they’re paying me. I don’t know. But tomorrow I’m giving them walnuts and assigning ranks. Gerald is already on thin fucking ice.

Now here’s a man happy with his calendar. He’s got two. One to write on and one for best. Just like last time. What a legend. One of my favourite all time Boro players and a brilliant guy.
