The Republican Party was created by abolitionists explicitly to end slavery. The KKK was created to intimidate Republicans and freed blacks during Reconstruction. The "parties switched" lie was started in the 70s to explain Nixon's win. It was the "Russia collusion" of its day.

Impulsivity, executive function, and cognitive differences: Average group differences in IQ (~1 SD) and executive function shift the distribution toward higher impulsivity and weaker long-term cost calculation, predicting elevated aggression and criminal justice contact. Going to jail over trivial disputes is the predictable outcome of high time-preference: immediate emotional release outweighs delayed consequences. High-trust societies depend on people routinely weighing delayed consequences and suppressing immediate aggression. Street code and honor norms: In many inner-city environments, respect functions as fragile social capital that must be aggressively defended; even minor perceived slights trigger escalation because backing down signals weakness and invites further targeting. This honor-code dynamic, more strongly endorsed by black men in recent studies, turns ordinary interactions and social friction into status contests. Father absence and socialization: Decades of high non-marital birth rates (~70%) leave many Black boys without consistent paternal discipline and modeling of restraint, strongly predicting externalizing behavior and later crime even after controlling for income. In the absence of that structure, street-code norms fill the gap and reinforce “don’t take shit” over self-control. Grievance framing and external locus of control: Media and activist narratives reframe routine rules and friction (ID checks, seat policies, limited service, waiting in line) as systemic disrespect, lowering the threshold for treating compliance as surrender. Once coded this way, non-compliance becomes the default response, converting minor inconvenience or disputes into arrests.

I thought appropriating hairstyles from an ethic group not your own was an irredeemable act of violence and oppression?

We're watching every nation in the West devolve into the Third World - violent street riots, grooming gangs, child trafficking, massive fraud of social programs - and it's all facilitated by affluent liberals holding the gates open because they're afraid of being called racists.
Thousands of rioters are wrecking French cities today. They are throwing massive pieces of concrete and pavement on police officers

I'm sure if Democrats move them into a Minnesota suburb, American values will rub off on them in a few months and they'll fit right in.

If Lindsay Clancy is found not guilty, it's going to be the liberal white women's version of the OJ trial, where millions of American blacks cheered when a provably guilty murderer walked free because one of their own had beaten the system. @AnnCoulter
After Judge Sullivan verbally declared a mistrial in Lindsay Clancy's case, defense attorney Kevin Reddington asked the judge if he could file a motion for a stay with the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, the highest court in Massachusetts, before the mistrial was officially declared. Judge Sullivan granted Reddington an hour to try to file an emergency appeal for a stay. If the Judicial Court does not intervene, a mistrial will be declared.

Speaking of gentrification, The DSA Co-Chair in NYC, Gustavo Gordillo has a $1.5M Rowhome in Brooklyn his parents bought him. @WillBredderman good work.
I wonder if @NYCDSA co-chair @unionGustavo's parents will pay the pied-a-terre tax on the rowhouse they bought him in Bed-Stuy (Gustavo *E.* Gordillo is the father of our local Gustavo *L.*). The home showed up on the list Mamdani's office released. Fair market value: $1,457,000

This is the COVID equivalent to... "I voted for welcome all refugees and anyone who disagrees is a racist, and now I'm woken up at 5am by the call to prayer and I can't get a cab that let's me carry my dogs or alcohol... what happened?"

This scene from White Lotus is very poignant. It perfectly captures every progressive person that I know especially academics. It is unthinkable to them that a person might not share their political orientations.
