@justmoon Stefan Thomas is cooking on github in the past hours. Getting things done before his Dassie Interledger presentation, using the XRP Ledger as a custody and settlement layer. A lot is going on here. Let's touch on some ๐Ÿงต: He uses Dassie nodes and Dassie Hubs (Settlement hubs) as well as the XRP Ledger. 1) In his model, not every payment has to be a XRPL transaction, instead, many interledger packets on Dassie's network turn into smaller Dassie hub moves and those turn into very few final settlement transactions on the XRP Ledger. This is effectively mass scaling of payments. 2) He is also active on the testnet currently with different Hub Escrow accounts (not XRPL escrow) for XRP and DUSD, RLUSD for main net. Definitely go into his session to learn more, this is just high level rundown.
Wait a second??! The Ripple Swell Agenda just got a new session and look! Stefan Thomas @justmoon, the first CTO at Ripple who wasn't a co founder and Co architect of Interledger is tomorrow at Ripple Swell. Showcasing a payment network, via Dassie the P2P version of Interledger and made possible by the XRP Ledger. Running 2 layers on top of the XRPL, a settlement hub + Dassie. A session you should NOT miss out on!

๐Ÿงต โ€œA transaction isnโ€™t fast until itโ€™s final.โ€ Speed gets attention. Finality tells you when you can move on. On @Algorand, transactions are final once included in a certified block. Hereโ€™s how that fits into @chainspect_appโ€™s โ€œRace to Finality.โ€ ๐Ÿ‘‡ In Chainspectโ€™s October 28 graphic: โ€ข Aptos: Instant โ€ข MultiversX: Instant โ€ข ICP: Instant โ€ข Algorand: Instant โ€ข BNB Chain: 0.65s โ€ข Solana: 12.8s โ€ข Cardano: 2m โ€ข Ethereum: 12m 48s โ€ข Bitcoin: 1h These are the graphicโ€™s reported finality figures. What does โ€œInstantโ€ mean for @Algorand? A transaction is final once included in a certified block. No additional confirmation blocks are required. Block production still takes time. Instant finality โ‰  zero seconds from clicking โ€œsend.โ€ How does it work? Algorandโ€™s Pure Proof-of-Stake combines verifiable random selection with Byzantine agreement. Participants are selected with probability based on their stake to propose and certify blocks. The security assumption matters, too: More than two-thirds of the participating stake must be honest. Random selection helps make committee membership unpredictable in advance, making targeted attacks harder. Why does finality matter? A merchant needs to know when a payment is settled. An exchange needs certainty before releasing funds. An application needs a confirmed state before taking its next step. Finality helps determine when they can move forward. This compares finalityโ€”not overall blockchain performance. Throughput, block time and real-world transaction latency are separate metrics. Bitcoinโ€™s one-hour figure represents a confirmation convention, rather than deterministic finality. @Algorandโ€™s strength here is straightforward: Confirmation and finality arrive together. For payments and applications that depend on settlement certainty, that is a meaningful design advantage. On Algorand, done means done. Sources: Chainspectโ€™s comparison: chainspect.app/dashboard?sorโ€ฆ Algorandโ€™s Pure Proof-of-Stake explained: algorand.co/technology/pure-โ€ฆ
โฑ๏ธ Final before you blink vs final in an hour Same transaction. Same job. Some chains are done instantly, others are still working when you come back from lunch. Which one would you rather wait for? ๐Ÿ‘‡ ๐Ÿ“Š chainspect.app/dashboard?sorโ€ฆ

Fair warning, we packed a lot into one release (if not now, then when?). In all seriousness, Iโ€™m so incredibly proud of the entire @Ripple team. Our best year ever โ€“ approaching $900M in annualized product revenue run rate exiting 2026, with customers and partners like Standard Chartered, DBS, HSBC, Robinhood, BNY and more using our blockchain infrastructure solutions built with XRPL for a variety of use cases to move, hold, tokenize and deploy assets. Kicking off our 10th @RippleSwell with a bang. ๐Ÿ’ฅ

first @Ledger now @KeystoneWallet, @Shopify is not to be trusted!
We owe you an apology. On October 20, we detected unauthorized access to our official website. After verifying API activity with Shopify, we confirmed on October 23 that a third party obtained customer shipping information. You trusted us with those details, and we're sorry we didn't keep them safe. Exposed: names, contact details, shipping addresses, and order details (items and prices). Not exposed: payment card or bank details, recovery phrases, private keys, or wallet passwords. We've blocked access, fixed the vulnerability, opened an investigation, and are emailing affected customers. Scammers may pose as Keystone by phone, text, email, or mail, offering refunds, replacement devices, or "fixes" for your order or address. None of it is from us. NEVER share your recovery phrase or private keys, and NEVER enter your recovery phrase into a device you didn't order. We will never ask for them. Don't click links in unexpected messages. Type keyst.one yourself. A detailed report is coming soon. Until then, trust only our official channels. If anything feels off, email [email protected]. We'd rather hear from you than have you take a chance. Again, we're truly sorry to everyone affected.

๐Ÿงต Algorandโ€™s consensus is becoming less concentrated by Chainspectโ€™s measure. On October 21, @Algorand reached a Nakamoto coefficient of 14, its highest reading in the displayed 90-day period. What does that actually tell us? ๐Ÿ‘‡ A blockchain can have many validators while much of its voting power remains concentrated among a few participants. The Nakamoto coefficient looks at how many of the largest participants together reach a critical share of consensus power. Distribution matters. Chainspectโ€™s general methodology for Proof-of-Stake uses a threshold above one-third of the stake. A coefficient of 14 means 14 of the largest entities identified by its methodology are needed to reach that threshold. It does not mean @Algorand has only 14 validators. The chart shows Algorand spending much of the period at 13, briefly dipping to 12, then reaching 14. Under a consistent methodology, that increase indicates less concentration around the measured threshold. An incremental improvement worth tracking. Why does this matter? A network depends on how its consensus power is distributed, as well as how many participants it has. Spreading that power across more independent operators can make coordinated disruption harder. Validator count alone cannot tell the whole story. There is a distinction worth keeping clear. Reaching a critical consensus threshold does not automatically mean an attacker can take complete control, rewrite history or move other usersโ€™ assets. The consequences depend on the protocol and the attack. The measurement also depends on identifying operators correctly. Separate accounts or nodes may share an owner. Hosting and infrastructure can introduce other dependencies. The Nakamoto coefficient captures one aspect of decentralization. It cannot capture all of them. For @Algorand, this adds another dimension to the security discussion. Post-quantum signatures concern cryptographic protection. Consensus distribution concerns the concentration of network power. Progress in either area deserves to be assessed on its own evidence. According to @chainspect_app, Algorand reached a 90-day high of 14 on October 21. A positive signal for consensus distribution and a useful baseline for watching whether that improvement continues. chainspect.app/chain/algoranโ€ฆ
๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ @Algorand reached a Nakamoto Coefficient of 14 on October 21. That is its highest in the past quarter. Fourteen independent entities would have to collude to take over the network, which is a tall order. ๐Ÿ“Š chainspect.app/chain/algoranโ€ฆ
