It is remarkable the furious invective & disdain that gets targeted at e.g. the moderate & careful @NigelBiggar, whose conclusions are generally measured & appropriately caveated. If he & his "side" are so clearly wrong, why not calmly establish this without the aggro?

Labour and the Tories, supposedly mortal enemies, propping each other up against Reformโsays it all.
Once again, "Nigerian" isn't a race. Kemi herself says she identifies as her "specific ethnicity" (Yoruba), not Nigerian, as northern Nigerians are her "ethnic enemies."

Almost everything Burnham says in this piece is a lie.
- We didn't get a "harder" Brexit than what was mentioned in the Referendum. We left with the most comprehensive trade agreement the EU has ever signed.
- The small boats crisis didn't emerge because of losing "returns agreements". While we were in the EU we were a net-, recipient of illegal immigrants from these agreements, the small boats crisis has emerged because of a global surge in illegal immigration and pull-factors like our human rights laws.
- Immigration within the EU was not "revolving door". It has been permanent, and significantly more than estimated at the time. Over 6 million people have come here on the EU Settlement scheme, double estimated.
The Prime Minister is dishonest and cynical, planning to hand border control to the EU, and likely pay them British taxpayers money while he's at it. โ at Merton, London

Britain is holding talks with the EU about a potential return to free movement and other options for closer alignment
The Times has been told that the UK is discussing a series of options about the future relationship which are due to be unveiled within weeks
Andy Burnham plans to set out his vision for closer ties with the bloc, including the potential of rejoining the union, and have a โconversation with the British public about our long-term futureโ
The options that will be presented are being discussed with officials in Brussels to ensure both sides would ultimately be able to agree
One source said all such routes would be โdiscussed using diplomatic channelsโ before any โbig bangโ launch of the options on the table

It's incredible the amount of time the media is wasting on interrogating Reform MPs on whether or not *someone else* calling Kemi a scammer is racist. Mind you, this is the same Kemi who said northern Nigerians are her "ethnic enemies," which they've never questioned.

The hardline ethno-obsessives would repatriate these young lads to God-knows-where. I think we should embrace and applaud them. (And, thankfully, I think most British people would agree.)

Some proper policies here. Suspect many on the Tory benches would quietly agree with most of this:

Instead of addressing the serious problems with the #ChildMaintenanceService and its heavy-handed financial enforcement powers, the Government seems determined to give #HMRC even greater powers over our bank accounts.
Rather than learning from the failures of an already deeply broken system, theyโre extending the same intrusive powers to the rest of us.
What could possibly go wrong?

Kyiv predates Moscow by centuries, and southern/eastern Ukraine was ruled by the Cossack Hetmanate and Crimean Khanate long before 18th-century Russian Imperial annexation. In 1991, every Ukrainian region voted overwhelmingly for independence, recognized by Russia 1994.

A straightforward imperialist land-grab, in other words. Utterly bewildering that there are, even now, gullible Westerners talking about NATO expansion, poking the bear, US-sponsored coups and the like.

It is funny that as Baroness Fox patiently set out a case for the dangers of poorly-socialised young people in Western society, the BBC had an oversized child sat by her to roll its eyes, sigh and interrupt every few seconds.
My attempt at discussing what has driven violent riots & wanton destruction in France (not without interruption). I was also reacting to unhelpfully labelling Kemi Badenoch's mention of challenges of migration y'day, as a Trump-like dog whistle #PoliticsLive
