Today, H/W @PaLabeja met with the successful bidders contracted by @GuluCityCouncil to collect local revenue, in a meeting convened by the City Clerk, Mr. Ahimbisibwe Innocent. Congratulating the companies on securing the contracts, His Worship reminded them that they are entrusted with a critical public responsibility and that, in carrying out their duties, they represent the image and values of Gulu City Council. He called upon them to strengthen customer care by training their frontline staff to serve the public with professionalism and respect. He further emphasized the need for all revenue collectors to wear uniforms and carry official identification to enhance authenticity, credibility, and public confidence. His Worship urged the companies to strictly adhere to the terms and conditions of their contracts, operate within the law, remain diligent in executing their responsibilities, and prioritize the employment of Gulu City residents as a way of creating jobs and supporting the growth of local businesses. He also announced that he will personally visit the companies’ offices to better understand their operations and ensure workers are treated fairly, including receiving their rightful wages. His Worship reaffirmed the City’s commitment to constructive engagement to address operational challenges, improve revenue collection, and support the growth of compliant local businesses.
