My speech on the occassion of Town Hall Meeting of His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi, NDC 2027 Presidential Candidate, on 29th October, 2027 in Enugu
My beloved Ndi Enugu and Ndi Igbo.
I warmly welcome our NDC Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, the Vice Presidential Candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and their entourage, our Party National Leadership here present, and other guests gathered for this august Town Hall Meeting.
In 2024, during a meeting with Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in the United Kingdom, we discussed the possibility of another Handshake Across the Niger, reminiscent of the historic political understanding between the NCNC, led by the great Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, and the NPC, led by Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto. Today, by the grace of God, that vision is approaching reality through the NDC Obi–Kwankwaso partnership. We are presented with a potentially historic opportunity for an Igbo son to lead Nigeria as an elected president an opportunity that has eluded our people since independence. History is calling, and we must not allow this moment to pass!
My message to Ndi Igbo is simple: THE TIME IS NOW! We must seize this opportunity and work with our brothers and sisters across the South-South, South-West, North-East, North-West and North-Central to secure an NDC victory in 2027. This is not merely about an Igbo presidency; it is about building a new Nigeria founded on justice, competence, accountability, security and prosperity for all. The handshake across the Niger must become a bridge across Nigeria a bridge of unity, mutual respect and shared destiny. Your Excellency, Peter Obi, I bring you a message of hope and determination from Enugu State: Ndi Enugu are ready! As the NDC governorship candidate, I am confident that our people are prepared for a new direction and a government that puts their welfare first. We are determined to win their trust and secure victory in 2027. The road to the Lion Building is open, and we are ready to lead Enugu into a new era!
My fellow Nigerians, the moment demands courage, unity and action. Let us turn hope into organisation, organisation into votes, and votes into victory. To Ndi Igbo, I say: do not stand aside while history is being made. To Ndi Enugu, I say: the future of our state is in our hands. And to all Nigerians, I say: let us unite to build a country that works for everyone. The time is now! The handshake across the Niger must become a bridge across Nigeria! Together, let us secure an NDC victory in Nigeria, and also in Enugu State. Let us work towards a new Nigeria in 2027! May God bless Ndi Enugu, may God bless Ndi Igbo, and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Last month, I had an electrical problem at my house, so I called an electrician to fix it.

On a Sunday evening, my fourteen-year-old son asked me to take a DNA test. My first thought was that his mother had planted the idea.
We’d been divorced for six years. Things between us weren’t always easy, but I’d never missed child support, a school event, or one of my weekends with him. I believed I was a good father and had worked hard to keep him from feeling caught between us.
So when he came into the living room and said, “Dad, I need you to take a DNA test,” I thought I’d misheard him.
I set down the remote. “Where is this coming from?”
He looked nervous. “I just need to know.”
“Know what?”
“If you’re really my biological father.”
I stared at him, unable to speak for a moment. Then I asked if his mother had been talking to him about me.
He shook his head. “Mom didn’t tell me to ask.”
“Then who did?”
He said nothing. Instead, he went upstairs and came back with an old birthday card.
It was from his tenth birthday. I remembered buying it because of the football on the front. Inside, I’d written how proud I was to be his dad.
But someone had added another message in blue ink at the bottom.
“You have your mother’s eyes, but I hope someday you learn who gave you that smile.”
I knew the handwriting at once. It was my ex-wife’s older sister’s......

Guest: “I understand you have a business to run. You can enforce legitimate safety rules. You can investigate disturbances. But you don’t get to humiliate me in the lobby because of my job.”
Manager: “I can offer you a refund for the remaining night if you prefer to leave.”
Guest: “Put the offer in writing, including confirmation that I won’t be charged a cancellation fee.”

She accepted the refund, collected her belongings, and left without raising her voice.
Later, the manager told his staff that the situation had been handled professionally.
One receptionist disagreed.
She had watched the entire conversation and knew the guest had been more respectful than several customers the hotel welcomed without question.
A person’s profession doesn’t erase their right to dignity. Hospitality means enforcing rules fairly, not deciding who deserves respect.
