As a longtime @Eagles season ticket holder, I’m deeply disappointed and troubled by the news about @JalenHurts . Players’ health and safety must always come before winning games. Eagles fans deserve transparency about how these medical decisions were made. Accountability matters. #FlyEaglesFly
Jalen Hurts, the Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback, is out for the rest of the season after doctors discovered a blood clot in his leg and clots in both his lungs. The former Super Bowl MVP is expected to make a full recovery. @RhiannonAlly has details. abcworldnewstonight.visitlin…

The @BostonCollege Investment Committee (an LP and my beloved alma mater) asked for a few thoughts on what's happening in AI. I recorded a test run yesterday morning and then shared it with my partners, who encouraged me to share it more broadly... so here you go! This is not a sales pitch, it's just a reflection on what we're seeing. And it wasn't intended to be shared, so please pardon the rough edges. loom.com/share/c016702964a04…

Roger Federer on what it takes to win: “In the 1526 singles matches I played in my career, I won almost 80% of those matches. Now, I have a question for you. What percentage of points do you think I won in those matches? Only 54%. In other words, even top-ranked tennis players win barely more than half of the points they play. When you lose every second point on average, you learn not to dwell on every shot. You teach yourself to think: it's only a point. When you're playing a point, it has to be the most important thing in the world, and it is. But when it's behind you, it's behind you. This mindset is really crucial because it frees you to fully commit to the next point and the next point after that, with intensity, clarity, and focus. You want to become a master at overcoming hard moments. That is, to me, the sign of a champion.”

Just going to leave this here…
Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan could make billions on its early investment in SpaceX. The Toronto-based pension plan first invested in Elon Musk's company in June, 2019. It was part of a funding round that raised US$314-million for Space Exploration Technologies Corp., at a time when its Starlink internet service was just starting to launch satellites and a boom in AI was still years away. Seven years later, the pension fund is sitting on a potential windfall of as much as US$11-billion from its initial investment of about $300-million as SpaceX prepares to go public next week. theglobeandmail.com/business…

Just out: California's wealth tax proposal has a NEGATIVE $25B net present value. We project only ~$40B collected (vs. $100B claimed), with ~30% of the tax base already gone and lost income taxes wiping out gains. w/ Ben Jaros, @gregkkearney, John Doran & Matheus Cosso: papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.…

California’s so-called “wealth tax” proposal is already driving jobs and tax revenue out of state. This is the predictable consequence of one state acting alone. The answer to income inequality needs to come from the federal government –  and that’s why we need to close the loopholes, cut the waste, not crash California’s innovation economy.  backtobasicssj.com/innovatio…

Hey @NYCMayor - I responded to your tweet yesterday with a few constructive suggestions as you enter office. It looks like you hid the reply after it got substantial support. Hopefully I am wrong about that, but multiple people have confirmed they can no longer see the reply. You ran your campaign on transparency and working for the people of New York. It doesn't seem transparent or helpful to hide the replies of residents who are engaging in conversation with you. Here is the screenshot so everyone can see what I said.
I was briefed this morning on the U.S. military capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, as well as their planned imprisonment in federal custody here in New York City. Unilaterally attacking a sovereign nation is an act of war and a violation of federal and international law. This blatant pursuit of regime change doesn’t just affect those abroad, it directly impacts New Yorkers, including tens of thousands of Venezuelans who call this city home. My focus is their safety and the safety of every New Yorker, and my administration will continue to monitor the situation and issue relevant guidance.

I'm infuriated by the fraudulent daycares in Minnesota that took public funds without ever serving children. There are hundreds of thousands of legitimate providers across the country working incredibly hard to deliver high-quality childcare for families and they will likely pay the price for these bad actors. If states are looking to strengthen oversight, we collect extensive childcare data at @Winnie and are always open to supporting transparency and accountability efforts.

I don’t think we should chase billionaires - and their innovation, jobs, and tax dollars - out of the state. Also it’s going to be catastrophic for startups if you force founders to pay a wealth tax on unrealized (and largely illiquid) gains…
Peter Thiel is leaving California if we pass a 1% tax on billionaires for 5 years to pay for healthcare for the working class facing steep Medicaid cuts. I echo what FDR said with sarcasm of economic royalists when they threatened to leave, "I will miss them very much."
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The proposed ballot proposition actually imposes a minimum of 5% (not 1% per post) one time tax on billionaires, even on unrealized gains. oag.ca.gov/system/files/i…
