"Success is determined by how precisely match your genuine curiosity to the work you do." That's a great quote. I'll keep it in mind in the post-AGI phase of my life.

Lots of debate this week on whether journals should ban AI in peer review. We actually tested this in our new preprint, and the results were pretty clear to me. For context, I've reviewed for most of the big journals and evaluated 1,000 human reviews as an editor. I love to read and evaluate science. TLDR: From now on I won't do any peer review without AI. For clinical trials, I'd even call human-only review dangerous 🧵

So basically probably lots of people have alien-hand syndrome for their thoughts now where they're unaware of the process that generates their ideas but upon request can unconsciously come up with baseless narratives to explain them
New Anthropic research: How AI agents shape experts' judgment calls When experts delegate work to an agent, do they still make the key decisions? We tested this in a randomized trial with 50 professional data analysts.

Less than a year ago, launching Gemini 3 Pro was a big-bang event where the whole team celebrated #1 benchmark numbers. Today Gemini 4 Carbon hits #1 on the AA Index, yet the feeling inside is distinctly different. We've been dogfooding continuously for weeks, and we've almost adapted to the new intelligence -- taking ambitious code rewrites for granted, leaving loops overnight that launch dozens of experiments to repro, root-cause, and fix mysterious bugs, and using swarms to inspect and fix RL data. Launches just feel like periodic checkpoints now.
Just two weeks after rolling out Gemini 4 Argon, excited to share a preview of Gemini 4 Carbon - our next frontier model. It has state-of-the-art long horizon coding capabilities driving SOTA performance across the cybersecurity defense lifecycle including detection, validation, and remediation. It also ranks #1 overall on the recently updated v5.0 of Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index at 59. We're starting by rolling out to a subset of cyber defenders through our Fairwind Program this week and soon expanding access further. Read more at: blog.google/innovation-and-a…

$GOOG is down 7% after Search revenue growth of 12%, below the Street’s 15% estimate. Search had been beating estimates since March of 2025. If this was a clean miss with no one-time factors, it will likely restart fears that generative AI and increasingly personalized bots will nibble away at growth. Look for comments on the call about how they plan to navigate this upcoming wave.

Q3 is in the books! We’re now on a half-trillion annual revenue run rate, with Alphabet revenues growing at 25%. - Our AI investments are driving overall Search query growth, including commercial queries - our YoY query growth rate is the highest it’s been in the last five years. - Google Cloud revenue grew 103%, powered by extraordinary demand for our AI infrastructure and AI solutions. Our 1P model APIs now process nearly 32B tokens/min (up 40% QoQ). - Strong momentum in model progress with Argon and Carbon leading the frontier, and Genie 4 our most advanced new world model yet. Thanks to our partners and employees around the world. More to share on the call soon!

very weird thing happening rn technical people are sad, they think their skills are now useless non-technical people are desperately wishing they were more technical so they could use agents better

United Airlines CEO in new interview on @Starlink: "We were only going to do 65% of our fleet, but once we put it on our first aircraft, I got these anecdotes saying, 'I'm switching to flying regional 'cause it's got Starlink.' Then I was like, 'Holy cow, we gotta go all-in.'"

.@GavinSBaker explains how most people don't understand how hard it is to stand up energized compute, and that a lot of 'amateurs' will get cleaned out by 2027. "Standing up a big GPU cluster is like running an F1 team." "A bunch of people who have no relevant experience have acquired some land and power, then they get a zero down payment offtake agreement from someone, and a lot of that is being cleaned up." "This is a forcing function to allocate GPUs to people who can actually bring on a cluster, energize the GPUs, and run it well." "Companies like CoreWeave, Crusoe, Nebius, SpaceX, etc." "It takes most people 3-6 months to get the GPUs energized. If we can, through Jensen's new DSX product, get that time down, I think that that's also healthy because that effectively takes a lot of working capital out of the market."

Gavin and John diagnose $CRWV's current challenges and contrast them with $SPCX's approach to pricing compute: @GavinSBaker: "CoreWeave is great. They run GPUs very well. They just sadly locked in a vast amount of compute in long-term contracts that are now way, way under market." @johncoogan: "They sold their GPUs for fixed prices, and that's why they're getting hammered right now. It's not that they don't have compute... they just sold for too cheap." Gavin: "The conclusion Elon came to was, 'Prices are going up. If we are willing to sell into the spot market, we can have paybacks of well under a year and get big prepayments.' I think that's probably a better financing model for the market we're in." "And by the way, I think CoreWeave is very aware of this. They're trying to get more spot exposure and do less of these big, long-term offtake agreements."

Tesla and lemonade insurance give FSD discounts. I bet the other carriers will end up following suit at some point in the future.
Replying to @RonDeSantis
i wish they would realise how much their liability is reduced by me using FSD. and reflect that in my rates.
