It cannot be overstated how much your quality of life decreases when it gets dark at 5pm instead of 7pm

This is the best news I’ve heard in long time
I'm going to get vulnerable with y'all real quick. Leah started her first job this week, and I just pulled up to pick her up. Saw her helping a customer and now I'm sitting in the car with tears pouring down my face.

🚨 NEW: Kaylub Giamanco, the HERO father who TOOK OUT the Bend, Oregon elementary school shooter last week, tells the story for the first time "I started hearing children PLEADING for their lives. And then I started hearing gunfire and I just started army crawling faster and faster. And I told myself, this is probably the last thing that I'm ever going to do." "I have to go in. People are going to die." "I crawled through the bottom window that was shot out and continued onto the rug inside where there's a little breezeway with stairs." "And then the special needs classroom was to my left. At that point, I was on the ground on my hands and knees. I re-racked my weapon to make sure that a live round came so that I knew that I was ready to go." "And then I peeked through the window. And at this point I found my opportunity. And I'd seen a teacher on the left struggling with the gunman on the right with the rifle." "And I knew that they were on both sides of me, and I knew that he did not know that I was there. And so at that point I swung the door out and open and I stepped in and I fired." This man deserves the Presidential Medal of FREEDOM! 🇺🇸

The Eagles could lose badly tomorrow to the Panthers, but I'm more interested in the development of young players for the future. Here's who I'm most looking forward to watching (feels like a preseason game) - Tanner McKee: Could he make himself money as another team's bridge QB next offseason? I doubt he does, but the opportunity is there. - Jaydon Blue: Do they have anything there? Maybe his speed can give the offense a spark. - Makai Lemon: He continues to get better. What's next? - All the young OL: Who will claim starting jobs for 2027? Keyshawn James-Newby: I liked what I saw in preseason. Jihaad Campbell and Drew Mukuba: Two second-year players who haven't lived up to their draft statuses yet. They have both flashed, but the consistency hasn't been good enough.

Random Madden 13 Twitter blurb in Franchise Mode
I say this with no cockiness. I can turn an organization around and lead it to championships. I know what roster building looks like and how to put pieces together. I have a lot of knowledge to give the game. You’ll laugh at my statement, but ask those who’ve played with me or coached me. Nobody knows the game inside and out and can connect rooms more than I can.

Jalen Carter made his presence felt all game against Jacksonville. 5 TKL, 3 TFL, 2 SACK, 2 FF, 1 PD vs Jaguars Even in the loss, Carter was one of Philly’s biggest difference makers on defense.

Ernie Davis' father died in an accident shortly after he was born. His mother could not raise him on her own, so when he was 14 months old she left him in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, with her parents. His grandfather was a coal miner. He raised the boy until he was 12. Then Ernie went to Elmira, New York, to live with his mother and his stepfather. At Elmira Free Academy he earned eleven varsity letters. His basketball team won 52 straight games over his last two years and he scored 1,605 points. About thirty schools offered him a scholarship. He said he picked Syracuse because it gave him the best chance to carry the football. They gave him number 44. That was Jim Brown's number. He broke most of Jim Brown's records with it. 2,386 rushing yards. 6.6 yards a carry. 35 touchdowns. As a sophomore he scored 16 points in the Cotton Bowl against Texas, finished the season undefeated, and Syracuse was the best team in the country. In 1961 he won the Heisman Trophy. He was the first Black player ever to win it. President Kennedy asked to meet him and shook his hand. Then comes the part of this story most people do not know. The Washington Redskins took him first overall in the 1962 draft. Their owner had kept that roster all white long after the rest of the league integrated, and the Secretary of the Interior had just told him to sign a Black player or lose the lease on his stadium. Ernie Davis refused to play for them. He was traded to the Cleveland Browns for Bobby Mitchell and a first round pick, and he was going to line up in the same backfield as Jim Brown. In July of 1962 his neck swelled up. Doctors thought mumps, then mononucleosis. On August 1 they told him it was acute monocytic leukemia. He went to Johns Hopkins. He got into remission for four or five months. He came to the facility and practiced without contact and sat with Paul Brown working on game plans. On August 18, 1962, Cleveland put him on the field at a preseason game, in a spotlight, in uniform, and let the crowd see him. That was it. That was the only time Ernie Davis ever stood on that field in front of people. He died at two in the morning on May 18, 1963, at a hospital in Cleveland. He was 23. Both houses of Congress stopped to eulogize him. More than 10,000 people came through the wake in Elmira. A message from President Kennedy was read at his funeral. He is in the College Football Hall of Fame. Syracuse retired number 44 in 2005. He is the only man to win the Heisman Trophy, go first overall in the NFL draft, and never play a single professional down. For more stories like this, follow us on any platform @thesportsontap

I’m not a guy that’s trying to maximize ROI on every single thing I do. we're going to do what's right by the fans, continue to lead and hopefully others will follow.” (Via @AZSports)
