How much of this $3B is going toward research to develop alternative pain therapy? We can't end the opioid epidemic without pain therapy that doesn't cause euphoria (i.e. addiction).

The only way to truly fight the opioid crisis is to develop non-addictive solutions for pain therapy. 80% of all addiction starts with a prescription. We need to support our doctors and medical professionals and get them better tools.

Here's an idea: invest in ways that will PREVENT rather than mitigate the opioid crisis. We need pain therapy without the risk of addiction.
