Fun fact: This is actually my birthday chapter. Well, Tuesday, but as close as it gets. For reference, my prior birthday chapters have been: Ch. 7: The GOAT Azami Ch. 55: Masumi intro Ch. 99: Yura & Yukisada greatness Ch. 136 - The Mikaboshi. I'd say I'm pretty lucky.

They re-wrote the history in a similar way that the Soga did. Distancing from Japanese culture, adopting non-Japanese naming convention, and even finding different ways to dress. Yet of course: They still speak Japanese. They have to. It's the only language they know. I love it.

It's a kind of ethnocentrism: a polar opposite of Shurin. While he hates himself (for being Japanese), Yukifu glorifies the Mikaboshi BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT. Of course, the ultimate irony comes from when you remember that the Mikaboshi were (and still are) of Japanese origin.
