Kagurabachi; releasing it's 1st chapter in WSJ-Issue #42 (not next week, the one after that).
"A future that will open up with a sword? A boy named Jihiro who longs for his sword-smith father, one day...?"
Could this baller ass katana dude be the future of Shonen Jump? 🤔

she’s pink yotsuba to me #fornow #kagurabachi
This tweet applies five-thousand-fold to pinkie's build-up & slowburn of a reveal #btw
One of the most doomposted things about Kagurabachi & The Seitei War is that we'd never get the Mikaboshi POV and that they'd stay some alienated, propagated entity that you can blindly hate without understanding.
Yet I see no one apologizing for being a little doubter-digglydoo
Yet again, the Mikaboshi find themselves executing practices, tradition & customs that not only mirror the Soga, but show off the prickish, discriminatory nature of hierarchies. Even the word "pure of blood" is full of disgusting rhetoric.
The retainers cover their eyes as if to 'hide' the fact that they're not pure. This is to say: The unspoken words of this revelation is that you have no identity - as a warrior, a disposable. You "gain the right" to show off your selfhood if you're born correctly.
Deep into editing 12 minutes of a video - It'll be out Tuesday at latest. And out of nowhere I just get the most sickening headache & momentary convulsions so I guess even if I don't like it I'll have to wrap up my work for today.
Chapter so good its making me sick (literally)

Sleeping on ANY of these guys is crazy. They're the reason the enchanted blades were even invented. We're dealing with villains who are at bare minimum Sojo tier but likely way stronger and more skilled.

You guys saw an Albino person with a crystal clear dysphoria about their skin and pigmentation and your first reflex is to call him white for the memes.
For the record: Everyone saying Yukifu is fodder just because he's a little bit emotional - I'm watching you. I see what you say, and I'm noting it all down.
Yukifu is a sleeper-hit.
Fun fact: This is actually my birthday chapter. Well, Tuesday, but as close as it gets. For reference, my prior birthday chapters have been:
Ch. 7: The GOAT Azami
Ch. 55: Masumi intro
Ch. 99: Yura & Yukisada greatness
Ch. 136 - The Mikaboshi.
I'd say I'm pretty lucky.
They re-wrote the history in a similar way that the Soga did. Distancing from Japanese culture, adopting non-Japanese naming convention, and even finding different ways to dress. Yet of course: They still speak Japanese. They have to. It's the only language they know.
I love it.
It's a kind of ethnocentrism: a polar opposite of Shurin. While he hates himself (for being Japanese), Yukifu glorifies the Mikaboshi BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT. Of course, the ultimate irony comes from when you remember that the Mikaboshi were (and still are) of Japanese origin.

I love when albino characters in animanga are fr albino, like that is a thing that is relevant to their character
The difference in manneurism, saying the exact same thing. You can tell who takes the RELIGIOUS aspect more seriously, and who more so sees the UTILITY side of it.
It's one thing to tackle ideas that are less talked about in a mainstream sense, and another to do so in the most popular manga magazine out there. His character is basically internalized racism, his development can very quickly become one for the HISTORY BOOKS.
